OF UNION DUES. All employees who are now members of the Union shall remain members of the Union and all new employees shall become members of the Union after they have completed their probationary period as a condition of employment. Employees will be required to permit the deduction from their pay, each pay period, of an amount equivalent to the regular dues of the Union commencing in the case of new employees at the time of the regular monthly on the first day of employment. Such deductions shall be made and remitted by the Employer to the Treasurer of the Local not later than the fifth (5th) day of the month following the month when such deductions are made. Within fifteen (15) days, such deductions so remitted shall be accompanied by a list of those employees who have been added to or deleted from the master list. Employees will be required to permit the deduction from their pay, from time to time, any special or additional dues properly assessed in accordance with the Local Union as approved by the National Union. In cases where a large number of new employees are hired at one time, the Employer agrees that it will, in concert with up to three (3) members of the executive as designated by the President, acquaint new employees as per paragraph (a) above. In order to provide job security for the current members of the bargaining unit, the Employer agrees that all work or services which are currently performed by bargaining unit employees shall not be transferred, leased, assigned, or conveyed, privatized, in whole or in part to any other plant, person, company, or unit employee. OF UNION DUES. The Hospital will deduct each month from the wages of all employees the regular monthly dues assessed by the Union in accordance with the constitution and by-laws of the Union or an amount equivalent thereto. Such deduction shall commence on the first full pay period following the date of hire of the employee.

Ail employees to whom this Agreement applies, who are hired after January shall be required to sign an authorization for the checkoff of union dues. Union dues will be deducted on the first regular deduction date following the hiring of an employee. The amount of union dues deducted shall be shown on each employee's Income Tax Slip. In consideration of the deducting and forwarding of union dues in accordance with the foregoing by the Corporation, the Union agrees to indemnify and save the Corporation harmless against any claim or liability arising out of or resulting from the operations of this Article.

OF UNION DUES. The Company, upon receipt of written authorization from any of its employees, in the form agreed to between the Company and Union, will deduct, and continue to deduct until the termination of this Agreement, from such employees' pay earned for each week, as a condition of employment, the sum authorized by the employees for payment of Union dues. A cheque in favour of Local Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers Union, for the amount of dues so collected will be forwarded to the Treasurer of Local on or before the end of the month in which the deductions are made. VALIDITY OF AGREEMENT Any provision in this Agreement which is contrary to law or regulation in force from time to time shall have no force or effect, but this Agreement shall not be invalid by reason of any such provision. BEREAVEMENT LEAVE (see Bereavement Letter of Intent) In the event of the death of an employee's father (step), mother (step), spouse or child (step) and the employee furnishes reasonable proof of such death to the Human Resources Department, such employee will be granted a reasonable leave of absence, at current salary rate not to exceed one (1) normal work week. In the event of the death of an employee's mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother, sister or grandchildren and the employee furnishes reasonable proof of such death to the Human Resources Department, such employee shall be granted a reasonable leave of absence, at current salary rate not to exceed three (3) normal working days. In the event of the death of an employee's Son-in-Law, Daughter-in-Law, Brother-in- Law or Sister-in-Law, and the employee furnishes reasonable proof of such death to the Human Resources Department, such employee shall be granted a reasonable leave of absence, at current salary rate not to exceed two (2) normal working days. In the event of the death of an employee's spouse's grandparents and the employee furnishes reasonable proof of such death to the Human Resources Department, such employee shall be granted a reasonable leave of absence, at current salary rate not to exceed one (1) normal working day. Should a paid holiday occur during a period of leave with pay granted under this clause, the employee shall not receive pay for such holiday under Clause of this Agreement. When calculating pay for Bereavement Leave, shift premium will be included if the employee would have been entitled to such shift premium had they been working,
OF UNION DUES. The Company agrees that check-off of union dues shall be made on a weekly basis from the wages of all Union mem- bers and that the dues and an initiation fee will commence from the first full week of employment of all new employees. The dues will be remitted to the Financial Secretary of the Union weekly together with a list of employees from whom the money was deducted. The Company and the Union agree that there shall be no discrimination against any employee because of member- ship or non-membership in the Union. If any dispute arises as to whether there has been any vio- lation of this pledge, the dispute shall be regarded as a grievance and submitted to the grievance machinery provided in this agreement. Should the Union decide to increase or decrease the deducted as Union dues, the Union shall officially notify the Company in writing. Such changes shall become effec- tive with the first pay of the following month, except that the Company must have at least fifteen days notice of such change and not more than one increase and one decrease in any six (6) month period.
