Percentageof sales is a measurement utilized to ensure continued profitability. If the business case shows that certain routes and or delivery areas are not profitable on a quarterly basis; the company may explore other delivery options notwithstanding article Routes being assessed under the terms of this letter of understanding will be capped at four routes. Delivery routes will be monitored and reassessed on a quarterly basis; should the areas become profitable again on a quarterly basis, private fleet trucks will be dispatched back into those areas. United Steelworkers. Dear Sir: Letter of Understanding: Pension Plan and Benefits and Post Retirement Health and Welfare Benefits The Company and the Union agree to form a Pension and Benefits Committee within sixty (60) days from the date of ratification. The Committee shall meet on a regular basis during the twelve (12) month period from the date the Committee is formed. The purpose of the Committee shall be to explore cost savings, to the Company in the area of Pension and Benefits. All findings of potential cost savings shall be mutually agreed upon between the Company and the Union prior to the cost savings being implemented. In the event that cost savings are found re group benefits the Company and the Union shall explore the possibility of implementing benefit improvements and any benefit improvements shall be mutually agreed to. The Pension and Benefits Committee shall include representatives from the Company and the Union. The Local Union Representatives selected by the Union shall not exceed two in number and shall include the Local Unit Chair. Both parties shall have the right to include representatives from outside sources. The Local Union members on the Committee shall accumulate seniority to which they normally would be entitled; receive their regular rate of pay from the Company as based on a normal work week; and return to regular employment when their work on the pension and benefits committee is complete. United Steelworkers. Dear Sir: Letter of Understanding: North American Tillage Tools Company Non-Contributory Retirement Plan for Hamilton, ON Plant Employees Local 1650 Effective May 4, 2015, an increase of $1.00 for current services going forward to all employees in the DB plan as of May 1, 2012. Effective May 4, 2016, an increase of $1.00 for current services going forward to all employees in the DB plan as of May 1, 2012. Effective May 4, 2017, an increase of $1.00 for current services going forward to all employees in the DB plan as of May 1, 2012. Future service Defined Benefit increases – For the duration of the contract and beyond, it is agreed that any additional defined benefit increases will be determined by the following calculation: May 1, 2018 – April 30, 2021 - Formula is based on the average regular wage increase plus COLA increases: For every 1 cent average increase in wages and COLA there will be a 1.5 cent increase in the monthly Defined Benefit amount. The adjustment will occur on May 1, 2014. (future service only) May 1, 2014 and beyond – The formula is listed as above but any increases will be calculated annually and adjusted on May 1st of each year. (future service only) Should the funded status of the pension plan improve to 110% on both the going -concern basis and the hypothetical wind-up basis as at the date at which a formal funding valuation is to be filed with the pension regulators, then management would agree to improve the monthly benefit rate for the remaining active members in the pension plan such that the funded status of the pension plan would not be lower than 95% on both the going-concern basis and hypothetical wind-up basis. Such an improvement in the monthly benefit rate would also be limited to two times the rate of inflation for the period April 30, 2012 to the date at which the formal valuation is prepared. This review will occur a minimum of every 3 years commencing with May 1st, 2014.
United Steelworkers. The Company and Union agree to the employment of Summer Students under the following conditions: Summer Students shall only be employed by the Company during the period of May to the Friday prior to Labour Day inclusive in any year. The Company shall not be permitted to hire Summer Students if there are bargaining unit employees on layoff. Summer Students will not accumulate seniority during their period of employment and shall not have any recall or bumping rights. Summer Students shall not be eligible to receive Group Insurance or Pension Benefits during their term of employment. Summer Students shall not be required to pay initiation fees to the Union. However, they will be required to pay Union dues as provided for in Article Union Security. Summer Students shall be paid not less than the starting rate for the job classification to which they are assigned. Summer Students shall not be asked or permitted to work overtime unless permanent employees in the classification in which the student is assigned are unable or unwilling to work.
