For Bereavement Leave a. If an employee is bereaved of a parent, grandparent, bother, sister, father- in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in- law or grandchild, she shall be granted a leave of absence of three (3) days, with pay, provided the funeral is attended. The days granted shall be between the date of death and the day after the funeral.

For Bereavement Leave. If an employee is bereaved of a spouse, child grandchild she shall be granted a leave of absence of five (5) working days with pay for the purpose of grieving. If the employee is bereaved of a parent, grandparent, brother, sister, immediate in-laws, aunt or uncle, she shall be granted three (3) working days with pay for the purpose of grieving. If the employee is bereaved of a niece, nephew great grandparent, she will be granted leave of one (1) working day with pay for the purpose of attending the services (interment or memorial). Additional unpaid compassionate leave will be granted upon request.

If an employee is bereaved of her spouse or child she shall be granted a leave of absence of four (4) days, with pay, provided the funeral is attended. The days granted shall be between the date of death and two (2) days after the funeral. If an employee is not able to attend the funeral, the leave of absence shall be for one (1) day with pay only. Bereavement pay shall be paid only for days upon which the employee was scheduled to work. An employee will not be eligible to receive payment under the terms of bereavement leave for any period in which she is receiving payment for holiday pay or vacation pay. If an employee is on sick leave and attends the funeral, the bereavement leave will not be charged against sick leave accumulated.

  • Bereavement Leave (a) Upon the death of an employee's spouse, spouse to include same sex partner, child or stepchild, an employee shall be granted leave up to a maximum of five (5) continuous calendar days without loss of pay. One of the days of leave shall include the day of the funeral or equivalent service. Additional days off with or without pay may be granted by the Employer. Part-time employees will be credited with seniority and service for all such leave.   • BEREAVEMENT/TANGIHANGA LEAVE 15.1 The employer shall approve special bereavement leave on pay for an employee to discharge any obligation and/or to pay respects to a deceased person with whom the employee has had a close association. Such obligations may exist because of blood or family ties or because of particular cultural requirements such as attendance at all or part of a Tangihanga (or its equivalent). The length of time off shall be at the discretion of the employer.

  • Bereavement A maximum of three (3) days earned sick leave may be used per occurrence for bereavement due to the death of persons in the immediate or extended family, as defined herein, or any relative who resided with the employee.

  • BEREAVEMENT PAY 22.01 The Employer agrees that in the event of a death in the immediate family, the Employer shall grant bereavement leave of three (3) consecutive calendar days with pay. This leave includes both working and non-working days.

  • Intermittent Leave If medically necessary due to the serious medical condition of the employee, or that of the employee's spouse, child, parent, registered domestic partner within the meaning of Minneapolis Code of Ordinances Chapter 142, or other dependents and/or members of their households who have a serious medical condition, leave may be taken on an intermittent schedule. In cases of the birth, adoption or xxxxxx placement of a child, family and medical leave may be taken intermittently only when expressly approved by the Employer.

  • LEAVES OF ABSENCE AND BEREAVEMENT PAY 21.01 The Employer may grant leaves of absence without pay, for a time mutually agreed upon between the Employer and the employee, for the following reasons:

  • Carer’s Leave An employee may use up to 10 days accrued sick days as carers leave to tend to the care for members of the employee’s immediate household. The leave will be subject to the employee providing reasonable proof of the need for the use of xxxxx’s leave. In circumstances where the employee has exhausted all of the paid leave, a further 2 days unpaid leave may be taken.

  • Bereavement Days In the case of bereavement of immediate family (as defined in article IX.G.1 below), employees will be given three (3) days that do not count against personal or sick leave. Additional bereavement days taken will be deducted from sick leave.
