OVERTIME AND CALL BACK PAY. Section 16.01. This schedule provides for regular work time of eighty (80) hours in a two-week period. The work period shall commence at 7:00 a.m. Saturday of each work period and shall end at 6:59 a.m. of the second Saturday of the work period. When a fulltime employee is required to work beyond her/his regular schedule s/he shall be paid overtime compensation at one and one-half times her/his regular rate for hours worked beyond that schedule. A part-time employee required to work in excess of forty (40) hours in any week (from 7:00 a.m. Saturday through 6:59 a.m. the succeeding Saturday) shall be compensated for all such excess hours at one and one-half times her/his regular rate.
OVERTIME AND CALL BACK PAY. In the case of time worked in excess of a normal duty day, overtime compensation shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1 1/2) times an hourly rate of pay as computed by dividing the employee's annual salary by 2713 hours. For the purposes of this section only, "time worked" shall be interpreted as including time during which an employee would have been scheduled to work but for an authorized absence other than an exchange of shifts under Section 9.5. In the case of an employee who is called back to duty outside of the normal duty schedule set forth in the Section above, such employee shall be guaranteed a minimum of two (2) hours work or pay in lieu of work at the above specified rate of pay. Whenever an employee is required to remain on duty past their regular tour of duty, they shall be entitled to overtime pay at the established rate until properly relieved. Such a holdover shall not constitute a call-back and is not subject to the two (2) hour minimum call-back provision outlined above. Effective April 1, 2006, overtime pay shall be paid in one quarter (1/4) hour increments.
OVERTIME AND CALL BACK PAY. In the case of time actually worked in excess of the normal duty day, employees shall be paid overtime at the rate of one and one-half (1 1/2) times their hourly rate as computed by dividing the employee's annual salary by two thousand eighty (2,080) hours. General responses which include but are not limited to structure fires, hazardous material incident, technical rescues, and MABAS call outs. Within reason, overtime and call-back hours shall be distributed on a voluntary basis from a voluntary roster of those employees desiring to work such time an employee overtime roster. This roster shall reflect the total accumulated overtime (OT & comp) hours worked for the fiscal year for each employee, with the hours to be zeroed at the end of each fiscal year and the names to remain in the order in which they appeared on that day. Names shall be listed with the employee with the lowest total accumulated overtime hours first and the roster shall be updated each pay period. Each employee shall provide at least one phone number to be placed on the overtime list but may add additional phone numbers if desired. Overtime callback will occur through CrewSense or similar electronic scheduling program. When overtime coverage is required to maintain minimum staffing levels or to supplement on duty staff at direction of the chief for special situations, the following shall apply using the overtime callback procedure as noted in the paragraph below. Overtime that is known in advance (one shift or more), shall be filled by the shift where the overtime occurs. If the overtime is not filled, an email will be sent to the Assistant Chief and the company officers of the shift where an employee would be forced. Overtime for vacancies of 14 hours or less will be offered as a single shift in their entirety. For vacancies greater than 14 hours will be offered in 12 hour increments and then the remaining hours. The shift should be offered time before and after 7 p.m. Overtime shall be offered to the person on the list (i.e. the person with the lowest accumulated hours) and thereafter down the list until the available overtime is filled. OVERTIME AND CALL BACK PAY. Any work performed at the request of the Employer in excess of seven (7) hours per day or thirty-five (35) hours per week shall be considered overtime and shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (I 1/2) times the regular rate of pay. All work performed on Sunday shall be paid at the rate of two (2) times the regular rate of pay. Hours worked for the purpose of computing overtime shall include all hours the employee is in a pay status. Inthe event an employee is called back to work on the same day after she/he has completed her assigned work and left her/his place of employment or in the event an employee is called in to work on one of her/his scheduled days off, she/he shall be provided with not less than one (1) hour of work or one (1) hour of pay at one and one-half (l/2) times her regular rate of pay. The department will strive to assign and distribute or additional hours associated with catering or special events when necessary to the regular staff at the venues hosting any event when possible. Overtime for outside events outside the regular work day will be scheduled with a two hour minimum.
