Compensatory time off definition
Compensatory time off means authorized time off earned by or awarded to an employee to compensate in whole or in part for time worked in excess of the minimum work time required of that employee as a condition of his or her employment.
Compensatory time off in this chapter means compensatory time granted pursuant to authority in 5 U.S.C. 5926 (notwithstanding subchapter V of Chapter 55 of Title 5, United States Code, or any other law). It is time off from a regular scheduled tour of duty, without charge to leave, for an equal amount of time spent in overtime work.
