Special Situations definition
Special Situations means any Investment (i) in which the related Obligor is a company that cannot access capital through more traditional or public sources, and where the Investment is intended to lead to a significant improvement in performance or market position, such as share-backed financing, private convertibles, pre-IPO financings and distressed debt, and (ii) that are structured transactions intended to protect such Investment, align interests with those of management and shareholders, and also allow sharing in the upside of any value created.
Special Situations means those situations requiring reporting in addition to routine expedited and periodic reporting and currently detailed in GVP Module VI (Management and reporting of adverse reactions to medicinal products) as:

Special Situations. As Required by Law. We will disclose Health Information when required to do so by international, federal, state or local law. To Avert a Serious Threat to Health or Safety. We may use and disclose Health Information when necessary to prevent a serious threat to your health and safety or the health and safety of the public or another person. Disclosures, however, will be made only to someone who may be able to help prevent the threat. Business Associates. We may disclose Health Information to our business associates that perform functions on our behalf or provide us with services if the information is necessary for such functions or services. For example, we use another company to maintain electronic medical records on our behalf. All of our business associates are obligated to protect the privacy of your information and are not allowed to use or disclose any information other than as specified in our contract. Organ and Tissue Donation. If you are an organ donor, we may release Health Information to organizations that handle organ procurement or other entities engaged in procurement, banking or transportation of organs, eyes or tissues to facilitate organ, eye or tissue donation and transplantation.

When a special non-fire situation warrants the use of a frequency by the other agency, requests for authorization will be made through the responsible agency dispatch office to the appropriate district, zone, and/or region. Special Situations for the purposes of this PVA, means the use of Product during pregnancy (with or without outcome), use during lactation, dispensing errors, maladministration, accidental or occupational exposure, pediatric exposure, unexpected benefit, overdose, lack of efficacy, drug-drug interaction, withdrawal syndrome, drug dependence, misuse, abuse or addiction, transmission of infectious disease, disease progression or aggravation, off-label use, treatment noncompliance, withdrawal periods, environmental issues and the use of counterfeit product, all of which shall be reported by the Distributor to CASI following the requirements of AE reporting even if no AE has occurred.
Special Situations means any special situation, including reports of exposure during pregnancy or breastfeeding, overdose, abuse and misuse, medication errors, suspected transmission of any infectious agents, outside of label use, occupational exposure, inadvertent or accidental exposure, failure of expected pharmacological action, unexpected therapeutic or clinical benefit, expired drug use and falsified medicine.
