CULTURAL, CEREMONIAL AND NAIDOC LEAVE. 64.1 An employee of Aboriginal or Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Islander descent may be granted paid leave for up to 10 days in any period of two years for cultural or ceremonial purposes.

CULTURAL, CEREMONIAL AND NAIDOC LEAVE. 101.1 Employees of Aboriginal or Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Islander descent may be granted leave with pay for up to 10 days in any period of two years for cultural or ceremonial purposes. 101.2 Additionally, Aboriginal and Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Islander employees may be granted a further one day’s paid leave per year to attend and participate in NAIDOC Week activities. Employees wishing to attend activities during NAIDOC Week involving more than one day’s absence may be granted flextime, Purchased Leave, Annual Leave or unpaid Miscellaneous Leave subject to operational requirements.
CULTURAL, CEREMONIAL AND NAIDOC LEAVE. IP Australia recognises that all employees have a range of cultural and ceremonial obligations that arise and employees may be granted unpaid Miscellaneous Leave for cultural and/or ceremonial purposes on a case by case basis. To allow employees to meet obligations and participate in activities, Aboriginal and Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Islander employees are entitled to 5 days paid leave each year to participate in Cultural/Ceremonial/NAIDOC activities and may also be granted unpaid Miscellaneous Leave for these purposes on a case by case basis. DEFENCE RESERVE LEAVE An employee may be granted leave (with or without pay) to enable the employee to fulfill Australian Defence Force (ADF) Reserve and Continuous Full Time Service (CFTS) or Cadet Force obligations. An employee is entitled to the following ADF Reserve leave arrangements for the purpose of fulfilling service in the ADF Reserve including training and operational duty as required: 20 working days leave on full pay each financial year for Reservists undertaking Defence service; An additional 10 days leave on full pay per financial year to facilitate participation in additional ADF Reserve training, including induction requirements; Additional leave for Defence service, either on a paid, unpaid or top up pay basis may be granted by the Director General; Defence Leave entitlements can be accumulated and taken over a period of two financial years; Employees are not required to pay their tax free ADF Reserve salary to the Agency in any circumstances. An employee who is an officer or instructor of cadets in a Cadet Force may be granted paid leave of up to three weeks each financial year to perform duties as an officer or instructor of Cadets. For these purposes ‘Cadet Force’ means the Australian Navy Cadets, Australian Army Cadets, or the Australian Air Force Cadets. Leave for paid and unpaid Defence service counts as service for all purposes with the exception of periods in excess of six months do not count as service for annual leave purposes. COMMUNITY SERVICE LEAVE Employees who are members of eligible community service organisations or absent from work for the purpose of performing community service activities have access to periods of paid leave, as determined by the Director General for: emergency services responses; and reasonable travel time and recovery time associated with the activity. CULTURAL, CEREMONIAL AND NAIDOC LEAVE. Ipswich City Council is committed to developing a deep understanding of Aboriginal and Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Islander cultures and history and responding with respect. A growing knowledge and respect have led us to consider the introduction of paid cultural, ceremonial and NAIDOC leave for all Aboriginal and Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Islander staff as part of employee leave entitlements. We understand that Aboriginal and/or Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Islander employees have specific and unique cultural requirements and obligations. This may be religious, cultural or ceremonial practices to meet their customs and obligations under traditional lore, and to participate in cultural and ceremonial activities.
CULTURAL, CEREMONIAL AND NAIDOC LEAVE. 10 paid days per annum may be accessed by Aboriginal and/or Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Islander employees for the purposes of attending to cultural obligations and activities outside the workplace. An additional 5 unpaid days per service year is also made available. Part-time staff would be entitled to a proportionate day. This leave is not applicable for casual employees. This leave does not accumulate if not taken in the calendar year and is not paid out on cessation of employment.

  • Cultural and Ceremonial Leave (a) An employee is entitled to five days unpaid cultural and ceremonial leave per year, to undertake cultural or ceremonial obligations for the community or group to which the employee belongs to.

  • Ceremonial Leave An employee who is legitimately required by Aboriginal and Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Islander tradition to be absent from work for Aboriginal and Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Islander ceremonial purposes will be entitled to up to ten working days unpaid leave in any one year, with the approval of the employer.

  • Cultural Leave Where such leave is approved by the employer, teachers participating in recognised cultural activities within New Zealand or outside New Zealand are entitled to leave with pay on the same conditions as for sports leave.

  • Educational Leave Leave without pay may be granted for educational leave for the duration of actual attendance in an educational program.

  • Training and Education SECTION 1 – Law Enforcement Supervisors’ Training The state and the PBA recognize the importance of supervisor training programs to develop management skills in our law enforcement supervisors. The state will make a reasonable effort to continue existing training programs in law enforcement techniques and to develop new programs in performance review techniques, supervisory skills, and managerial techniques.

  • Orientation Program The Company will allow a designated representative of the Local or Bargaining Unit up to one (1) hour per calendar month for the purpose of conducting the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union New Members’ Orientation Program. Such meetings will be conducted during the probationary period of employees, and will be held on Company premises. Employees participating in Orientation Program meetings during their normally scheduled working hours will not suffer loss of pay at their regular rate. Orientation Program meetings will be scheduled by Management and a Management representative may attend as an observer.

  • Professional and Education Leaves (a) Leave of absence with pay or without pay may be granted to employees to attend professional and educational meetings, courses, or other events which may be judged beneficial to the employee's professional development, especially as it relates to her responsibilities with the Employer.
