An Emergency. Medical Condition is a medical condition manifesting itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity, including severe pain, such that a prudent layperson, who possesses an average knowledge of health and medicine, could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in: (a) placing the health of the individual in serious jeopardy, (b) serious impairment to bodily functions, or (c) serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. If you have an emergency medical condition, please call 911. Please answer questions and follow instructions carefully. You should request to be taken to the hospital, tell the ambulance company that you are a LIFE participant, and present your LIFE card to the emergency room staff.
