Double time definition

Double time means twice the straight-time rate.
Double time means two (2) times the employee's hourly rate of pay;
Double time means two (2) times the straight time rate calculated by the formula: bi-weekly rate x 2 normal bi-weekly hours

Examples of Double time in a sentence

  • Call Out - The minimum payment for a Callout is 4 hours:  Monday to Sunday – Double time for all hours  Public Holiday – Double time & a half for all hours The employee shall not be required to work the full 4 hours if the job is completed within a shorter period.

  • Overtime on a public holiday will be paid at Double time and a half.

  • Except as otherwise provided, overtime worked from Monday to Friday will be paid at the rate of Time and a half for the first two (2) hours and Double time thereafter.

  • Overtime worked on a Sunday will be paid at the rate of Double time.

  • If, there is an immediate operational requirement to continue working and if on the instructions of Urban Utilities an Employee resumes or continues work without having had the ten (10) consecutive hours off, the Employee must be paid at the rate of Double time until the Employee is released from duty for such period.
