Paid Educational Leave a. An employee may request special paid leave at straight-time hourly rate which may be granted employees for educational purposes which will benefit the State by adding to or strengthening employee skills or knowledge and to allow employees to attend approved conferences, professional meetings and workshops.

Paid Educational Leave. The Employer retains the sole discretion to either grant or deny requests for paid educational leaves of absence. Requests for paid educational leave shall be submitted at least one hundred and twenty (120) days in advance of the requested leave. The Employer agrees to either grant or deny such requests at least sixty (60) days prior to the requested leave. Failure to respond within the designated time limits shall not constitute approval of such requests.

The Professional Nursing 12 Care Committee (PNCC) in cooperation with the Nursing Educator may approve 13 nominees for paid educational leaves. Nurses returning from a paid educational 14 leave may be required to make a written or oral presentation to the nursing staff.

Paid Educational Leave. 37.01 The Company agrees to pay into a special fund four ($.04) cents per hour per employee for each year of the collective agreement, for all paid hours in order to provide for Paid Educational Leave. Such leave will serve to upgrade employee skills in all aspects of Trade Union functions. Paid Educational Leave. After completion of one (1) year of continuous employment, full-time employees shall be eligible for up to sixteen (16) hours of paid leave time for educational events each calendar year (pro-rated for part-time employees based on FTE status). Such paid leave shall be subject to the scheduling requirements of the Department and approval by the Employer of the subject matter. Educational leave may be used on an hourly basis for time spent at the educational offering. An evening or night shift employee may request their scheduled shift off, in order to attend an educational event occurring on the preceding or following day shift. Unused educational leave shall not be carried over from one calendar year to the next. When an employee is required by the Employer to attend an event for training purposes, such mandatory training shall be paid by the Swedish Medical Center.
Paid Educational Leave. Paid time off shall be available for CME (Continuing Medical Education) leave for all full-time employees in this unit as described below. CME leave for part-time employees will be prorated. Each employee hired who uses any time earned during the first six (6) months of employment must sign a note which states that he/she will authorize a deduction from his/her last paycheck for the time used if he/she leaves County employment voluntarily within one (1) year of the date of hire. Time off for continuing medical education shall be by mutual agreement. Unused time shall not be carried over from year to year. Unused time shall have no cash value. Effective two weeks after final approval of this agreement by the Board of Supervisors – forty (40) hours per year. If contract ratification occurs outside of the fiscal year, any additional award during the fiscal year shall be prorated.
Paid Educational Leave. Education leave requested by the Employer for the employee will be considered working time and course costs will be paid by the Employer.
