Payment in Lieu of Health Insurance. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 14.1, effective with the execution of this Agreement, a full-time employee may voluntarily elect to waive in writing all health insurance coverage outlined in Section 14.1 and in lieu thereof, shall receive thirty-five dollars ($35.00) per pay period subject to the following:

Payment in Lieu of Health Insurance. All full-time employees who elect at their own discretion not to participate in the group health benefit plan as set forth in Section 17.0(a) shall be eligible to receive a cash alternative in lieu of insurance coverage, of at least the amount of Fifty and 00/100 Dollars ($50.00), each pay period if the employee is not covered by the insurance of a relative whose coverage is paid in whole or in part by the County or Court funds. Before any employee chooses to opt-out of the County insurance, the employee must provide proof of a reasonable level of health care coverage from another source.
Payment in Lieu of Health Insurance. All full-time employees who elect at their own discretion not to participate in the hospital and surgical insurance program as set forth in Section 1 hereof shall be eligible to receive, in lieu thereof, a cash alternative in the amount of fifty dollars ($50.00) each pay period (or such higher amount as may be approved by the County for any County-wide bargaining unit or the County non-union group), if the employee is not covered by the insurance of a relative whose premiums are paid by County or Court funds, provided the employee provides proof of a reasonable level of health care coverage from another source.
Payment in Lieu of Health Insurance. An employee who is covered as a dependent on a spouse’s or parent’s hospitalization policy may choose not to be covered by the medical insurance provided by the County. The decision to waive coverage can only be made once per calendar year. A waiver agreement, provided by the Employer, must be signed by the employee. In the event the employee elects not to be covered by such medical insurance, the employee shall receive the following amount which represents the premium which would have been paid on their behalf by the Employer, as a salary supplement or in a deferred compensation plan. Payment shall be made on a monthly pro-rata basis. Couple Subscriber $2,142.00 per year Family Subscriber $2,374.00 per year The employee may elect in writing to be paid a lump sum on an annual basis after the year the employee would have received the monthly pro rata payments. Such written notice to the Employer must be made on a timely basis. If the employee leaves employment prior to that time, he/she will be paid a pro rata amount to the date of termination. If a spouse also works for the County, or any of its departments, or any courts, there shall only be one health insurance coverage for the employees, and such employee(s) must make an election as to who will be primary insured. If the employee’s spouse is covered under a labor contract that does not permit the above, then the employee covered by this contract cannot be primary insured. Further, such employees shall not receive the above-referenced payment in lieu of health insurance. Employees assume all risks if they want to later re-enroll. Employees assume any potential risks as to not being covered for “pre-existing” illness or injuries by the insurance carrier and are subject to any open enrollment periods.
Payment in Lieu of Health Insurance. The District will pay $500 annually to each member eligible for family coverage who does not enroll in any health benefits program. In any year in which four (4) unit members who are eligible to enroll in family health coverage waive enrollment in health coverage, the District will pay $1000 to each member eligible for family coverage who does not enroll in family health coverage.

(Except in the case of Medicare carriers, no cash in lieu is allowed per the federal law.) Employees Opting out of Insurance coverage, opt out of the Hospitalization/Medical/Dental/Optical package. Employees waiving coverage may be limited to re-enrolling only during open enrollment periods or as allowed by the Employer’s health insurance carrier. If both a husband and wife, or an employee and dependent are employees of the County, a payment provision in the amount of $400.00 per month will be offered to one of the employees in lieu of independent health insurance coverage. (Except in the case of Medicare carriers, no cash in lieu is allowed per the federal law.) Those employees shall not be permitted to have double health insurance coverage from the same or different options as noted in this article.

Payment in Lieu of Health Insurance. 11.11.1 Any unit member who does not enroll in the health insurance plans will receive $2,500 for the 2010—2011 school year and every year thereafter. The dental plan is not affected by this clause. The payment will be prorated based on the date of hire/ leave and in a manner agreeable to both the District and the Association.
Payment in Lieu of Health Insurance. Employees who are eligible for health insurance coverage through the County and elect to NOT enroll in the group medical benefit plan because they are eligible for coverage under another qualified group medical benefit plan available to their spouse and/or eligible dependents will be eligible to receive additional monthly compensation based upon their health insurance coverage eligibility status. The amount of such compensation may be fixed by the Board of Commissioners, but shall not be less than $2,000.00 per year. Payments will be made once per year (December of each year). This amount will be pro-rated based on the number of hours the employee is regularly scheduled to work and the eligible months of service. An employee must provide proof of insurance coverage under a qualified group plan for the employee and eligible dependents as defined or required by the Affordable Care Act or implementing regulations and complete all forms or certifications required by the County and under the Affordable Care Act of such payments. It is agreed by the Parties that an employee will not be eligible for payment in lieu of health insurance if such payment would violate the Affordable Care Act or implementing regulations, or cause the Employer to be subject to penalty or fine. Should insurance coverage through the secondary source terminate for any reason, the employee should notify the County Administrator, or his or her designee, within (30) days and re-enroll in the County health insurance program. Failure to timely notify the County may result in the ability to re-enroll being limited to the open-enrollment period.
Payment in Lieu of Health Insurance. An eligible employee must enroll as a member of one of the products offered by the district to employees covered under this agreement in order to receive this benefit. Employees may elect not to join the plan or may elect single, double or family coverage. Eligible employees electing not to join one of the health plans for the entire membership year, and who provide proof of alternate group health insurance coverage through sources other than the Town of Chesterfield; shall be eligible to receive a $6,000 payment upon the close of the applicable school year. The amount shall not be prorated and no consideration for partial years will be given. This payment will be offset by any penalty imposed upon the District as a result of the employee’s participation in an alternative health care plan.
