Personal Leave. Personal leave not to exceed three days a year shall be granted each teacher. Teachers hired after the start of the school year shall be entitled to a pro-rated number of days. Teachers working less than full-time will be pro-rated for personal days to the nearest half- day. Personal leave may be used for such occasions as religious holidays, personal graduations and weddings, and graduations and weddings of members of the immediate family or household or personal business that cannot be performed at any other time. Personal leave is intended to cover emergency or other business that cannot be performed at any other time. The accumulation of personal leave for personnel on the teacher’s salary schedule shall not exceed five days. Accumulations in excess of five days, as of the first day of any school year shall be converted to sick leave and added to the member’s sick leave accumulation. Personal leave shall be requested in writing or verbally to the Human Resources Department because of the necessity of obtaining substitutes. Whenever feasible, such requests shall be made at least one week prior to the date requested for such leave. To obtain payment for personal leave, the employee shall enter the request via the internet or calling the Automated Substitute Management System using the individual PIN assigned when first registering with the system. Entering an absence by internet or calling in to the Automated Substitute Management System is considered a digital signature. Falsification of such form shall be grounds for disciplinary action up to and including termination. Requests for personal leave on the day immediately preceding or following a school vacation period will not be approved, except under very unusual circumstances. Personal leave can be granted only when no compensation is received by the employee from other than school funds. Personal leave shall be for personal business which cannot be performed at any other time. Except for personal leave immediately preceding or following a school vacation period, the teacher need not describe nor reveal the nature of such business, but need only state, in making the request, that the leave is necessary to attend to personal business which cannot be performed at any other time. Members of the bargaining unit employed on less than a full-time basis shall be entitled to such leave prorated according to their fraction of full-time employment.
Personal Leave. Written request for a personal leave of absence without pay will be considered on an individual basis by the Hospital. Such requests are to be submitted to the employee's immediate supervisor at least four (4) weeks in advance, unless not reasonably possible to give such notice, and a written reply will be given within fourteen (14) days except in cases of emergency in which case a reply will be given as soon as possible. Employees needing personal leave days for appointments with medical practitioners may utilize the personal leave language. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld.
Personal Leave. Three (3) days of the thirteen (13) sick days detailed in Section A will be available annually for personal, legal, or business matters which must be conducted during school hours. Personal leave may not be used to extend a regularly scheduled school holiday or vacation period. Application to the Principal for personal leave should be made at least two (2) days before taking such leave, except in the case of emergency. It will not be necessary for the unit member to state the reason for using personal leave; however, if the leave is used the day before or after a regularly scheduled vacation, the Principal may request an explanation for the emergency nature of the leave. Personal leave is non-accumulative, but any unused personal days at the end of the year will be carried forward as sick days.
Personal Leave. After the Trial Period, the Employee shall be eligible for days of ☐ paid ☐ unpaid time off per year for personal and/or medical issues. Personal Leave. Three (3) days per school year shall be granted to employees for personal leave. Personal leave shall not be used for other employment. Personal leave will be scheduled through the school principal. Personal Leave will be granted on a first come, first served basis, when a qualified substitute is available to cover the absence of the employee. Personal leave may not be used during the last three (3) days of the school year. Exceptions may be allowed for clearly stated reasons, on a case by case basis. Written requests for exception should be forwarded to the Superintendent or his/her designee, and a written response will be provided within five work days. Personal leave days will be in excess of illness, injury, and emergency leave, and if unused, may be cashed in at the end of the school year at the rate of $135 per day. The additional pay will be included in the July pay warrant. Up to two (2) days can be carried over each year. No more than five (5) days of personal leave may be accrued. No more than five (5) days of personal leave may be taken or cashed out in any given year.
Personal Leave. Subject to operational requirements as determined by the Employer, and with an advance notice of at least five (5) working days, the employee shall be granted, in each fiscal year, up to fifteen (15) hours of leave with pay for reasons of a personal nature. The leave will be scheduled at times convenient to both the employee and the Employer. Nevertheless, the Employer shall make every reasonable effort to grant the leaves at such times as the employee may request.
Personal Leave. A. An employee may choose one (1) workday as a personal leave day per fiscal year during the life of this Agreement if the employee has been continuously employed for more than six (6) months.
Personal Leave. At the beginning of every school year each teacher shall be credited with five (5) days to be used for the teacher's personal reasons. For the first three (3) days of leave, the district will pay for the substitute, while for the fourth & fifth days of leave, the cost of the substitute will be deducted from the employee's salary. A teacher planning to use a personal leave day (or days) shall notify the principal as early as possible, but in any event at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance, except in cases of extenuating circumstances. A maximum of three unused district-paid personal leave days may be held over from one year to the next, with a maximum of six for any given school year. If leave days are carried over, they must be used or paid out the next year. Unused leave days will be paid out at the current substitute teacher rate. At the end of each school year, a bonus will be paid to the teacher in the amount of sixty-five ($65) dollars for each day of district paid personal leave not used. Building administrator may deny leave based on availability of substitute or safety issues due to supervision of students.
