Calamity Day Pay. 1. When schools are closed because of an "act of God," inclement weather, hazardous road conditions, high water, no water, no heat, no power, etc., only those bargaining unit members who are required by the Administration to report to work shall do so. All other bargaining unit members not so required are not obliged to report to work and will not be docked for the days or days in question. If, however, such day or days are made up at some other time, it is understood that no extra pay will be given for that day or those days in question for those who did not report to work on the calamity day.

Calamity Day Pay. A. All support staff employees shall be paid their appropriate rate of pay for all days or part of a day when schools are closed owing to an epidemic, weather or other public calamity.
Calamity Day Pay. 1. When schools are closed due to an emergency that would jeopardize the health, safety and welfare of students, an employee who is not required to be present will be paid for that day at the regular straight time rate.

Classified personnel requested to work on such days will be paid for the time worked at the rate of 1½ times their regular hourly rate. Any employee who has requested and has been granted sick leave, personal leave or vacation on a day which has been declared a calamity day will not be charged with sick leave, personal leave or vacation on that date. Implementation of remote learning, including but not limited to during the Covid-19 pandemic, shall not constitute a calamity day(s). Employees may be required to work on such days, even if students or teachers are not in attendance. Employees will be paid for the number of hours worked or regularly scheduled to work on a remote instruction day, whichever is greater. No additional “calamity day” premium pay will be paid under this Article or the law; however, employees may earn premium pay under other provisions of the Agreement, if applicable. Any employee who has requested and been granted sick leave, personal leave or vacation on a day, which has been declared a remote learning day will be charged with sick leave, personal leave or vacation on that date.

Calamity Day Pay. When all schools are closed for an entire day because of a public calamity or a national day of mourning, no classified employee shall be required to work, except in an emergency, and shall be paid regular wages for the day. Any employee required to work shall be paid for the hours worked in addition to regular pay for the day. If the Board fails to make reasonable efforts to notify the employee of the school closing and an employee reports to work, the employee shall be paid a minimum of two (2) hours or the number of hours actually worked, whichever is higher. Such employee may be required to perform service for the district during the minimum hours. In the event that the Board of Education is required to make up calamity days beyond the five permitted by State statute, the Board of Education is not required to pay those employees working the makeup day(s).
Calamity Day Pay. When the Superintendent declares a calamity day, employees may be required to work to maintain the reasonable operation of the schools. Employees required to work on a calamity day will be paid their regular hourly rate plus that hourly rate paid again (double time) for hours worked on any such day. Employees who have reported to work before a calamity day has been declared and prior to the normal start of school shall also be paid double time, as defined above, for the hours required to work. Employees required to work shall make a reasonable effort to report to work and shall immediately notify their supervisor if they are unable to do so. Employees required to report to work on a calamity day shall receive a minimum of two (2) hours of calamity pay. Employees scheduled to work must work in their own job classification.
