Remote learning means instruction by means of one or more Internet-based software platforms as part of a remote learning model as may be authorized by the Newtown Board of Education (the “Board”) in accordance with applicable law.

Remote learning is implemented the following shall apply:
A. In the event Hocking County is on a Level 1 or when it is deemed necessary, the district will be on a two-hour delayed start. Staff members are to use caution and arrive as close to the employee’s start time as possible. Each building will have an alternative class schedule for remote learning on these days so that teaching and learning continue.
B. In the event Hocking County is on a Level 2 or 3, Classified Staff members may use an unrestricted or restricted personal day or complete professional development via public school works or other pre-approved training(s) to make-up their lost work time.
C. In the event of a school delay and students are not required to report to school, staff members are to use caution and arrive to work as close to the employee’s start time as possible. If the Board declares an early release due to weather, staff members may leave once all of the students are gone.
