Personal Emergency Days. On an exceptional basis, a Cabin Attendant may be absent for a personal emergency. Such an absence is deemed to be with leave if the Cabin Attendant complies with the time limit specified in Article 16.01 and if he justifies his inability to report for work. In the case of an absence where leave is granted in this way, a Cabin Attendant may obtain compensation for lost credits by requesting the application of sick leave credits provided for in Article 16.01.03 notwithstanding the preamble of Article 16. Moreover, the Cabin Attendant may ask that credits from overtime, a draft, open flight or training days be transferred to his bank of sick leave credits in order to restore that sick leave bank. A Cabin Attendant will fill out the appropriate form no later than the last day of the current month. Should the personal emergency day occur within the last seven days of the month, the form must be submitted, at the latest, by the 4th of the following month, Advance notice will be given to the Company in accordance with Article 16. An employee who wishes to reimburse the sickness credits used to cover a Personal Emergency Day (PED) may use the following: • Overtime, • Open flying, • Drafts (if over 65 hours), • Training credits. The credit chosen by ticking the appropriate box on the PED form will be credited in the employee’s sick bank until full reimbursement of the borrowed credit for that day. The employee has 6 months from the day he uses a PED to reimburse his sick bank. Furthermore, it is understood, that a PED is granted for one day only, except when it is a multi-day pairing. If the event is longer than one day, the first day will be considered as an emergency, and the following days will be considered as leave of absence without pay if they are authorized by In-Flight Service.

Personal Emergency Days. On January 1 of each year, full-time employees will be issued two (2) days of personal emergency leave credits, without loss of pay, to be used when an emergency arises. For the purposes of this article, emergency shall be determined in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act related to Personal Emergency Leave.
Personal Emergency Days. SHARE members may use up to 2 days from their earned/vacation bank for personal emergency without prior notice in a calendar year. Each designation of an unscheduled absence as a personal emergency counts towards the two (2) days allotted regardless of actual hours of absence from work. For example, an employee who normally works an eight (8) hour shift, who misses four (4) hours of work due to an emergency has used one (1) of the two (2) days allotted. An employee who normally works a ten (10) hour shift and is absent for ten (10) hours has also used one (1) of the two (2) days allotted. Earned time/vacation banks will be charged only those hours actually taken. The members must notify their supervisors with as much notice as possible. These absences do not count toward a member’s absenteeism rate. Designating an absence as a personal emergency day must be approved by the supervisor, and approval will not be unreasonably denied. SHARE members should recognize the difficulty that unscheduled absences create for their department and co-workers, and so use good judgment about using personal emergency days.
Personal Emergency Days. The Director of Fiscal Affairs and Budget shall be entitled to four (4) personal/emergency days per year, pro-rated for the first year. The Director of Fiscal Affairs and Budget may carry over to the following year two (2) days of personal/emergency time, which are not used. A maximum of six (6) personal/emergency days may be available if accumulated in any one school year. All unused personal/emergency days over six (6) will be converted to sick days. Personal Emergency Days. 12.1.1 Members of the bargaining unit upon completion of the probationary period shall receive two (2) paid personal leave days. Thereafter, employees shall receive two (2) days annually on July 1st. Leave requests shall be submitted on DESA Personal/Emergency/Bereavement Day Request Form found in Appendix D - Forms and shall be subject to the following guidelines:
Personal Emergency Days a. Each Employee shall be entitled to three (3) personal/emergency days per school year at no loss of pay. In addition, Employees with fifteen (15) or more years of District service shall be entitled to a fourth personal/emergency day per school year at no loss of pay. When emergency days are utilized, no restrictions shall apply other than that the day must be used for an emergency hereby defined as an unexpected exigency necessitating absence from school. The Employee must give the reason for the emergency to the Superintendent, who shall not unreasonably deny any request for emergency leave. On instances other than the preceding statement, no reason need be stated. All personal/emergency days not used, shall be accrued as sick leave. As soon as possible, notice on the form provided shall be given to the Administration before taking leave. It is understood that previous notice cannot always be given but is always desired. At no time shall the number in a given building exceed ten (10) per cent. Under extenuating circumstances, the Superintendent may grant additional numbers at his sole discretion. For the duration of this contract, Employees may use personal days consecutively.

A teacher will be granted up to five (5) days of leave per year to cover situations other than personal illness beyond the control of the teacher which would significantly impair teaching service. The pricing quoted by the Contractor shall apply to serving the County’s needs regardless of the circumstances. Additional profit margin as a result of supplying goods/services during an emergency or a declared disaster shall not be permitted.   • Personal Leave Day A. An employee may choose one (1) workday as a personal leave day each fiscal year during the life of this Agreement if the employee has been continuously employed for more than four (4) months.

  • Emergency Work Employees who are required to report for emergency work on non- workdays, or outside of their regular hours of work on a scheduled workday or on holidays which they are entitled to have off, shall be paid overtime compensation for the actual work time and for travel time in connection therewith, but such travel time shall not exceed one-half (1/2) hour.
