Training Days. Where required, employees will attend up to four (4) additional training days per year, beyond those days required for operational training, paid at their regular hourly rate of pay for those hours spent in training.

Training Days. Employees hired after July 1, 2005 shall be required to participate in two (2) training days without pay as scheduled by the District.

Training Days. Beginning in the year 2000, the Employer is responsible to provide ongoing job training, education and professional development for its police officers in order to achieve the broad-based level of knowledge and skill required for modern police work. To this end, the parties agree to form a training committee with equal representation from each unit to meet biannually in order to research, discuss and recommend appropriate training for employees. The Chief of Police shall continue to have the sole discretion to approve training for members. Training Days. (i) The parties agree that for “stand-alone” training that is not conducted on a regular working day, the rate of pay shall be the hourly travel rate, contained in Section 19, and not the Technician rates of pay contained in Section 9. The minimum call for a “stand-alone” training day shall be 4 hours. Should the training exceed the 4-hour minimum call, the day will continue to be calculated at the hourly travel rate until complete. Any overtime incurred on a “stand-alone” training day will be calculated using the hourly travel rate.
Training Days a. A training day will generally be considered as an eight (8)-hour workday. However, for a sergeant assigned to training of at least eight (8) scheduled hours away from the Village of Northbrook, on a day the sergeant is assigned to a ten (10) hour or twelve (12) hour schedule, the training day will fulfill the workday requirement. In no instance will such training be compensated as overtime. Sergeant schedules may continue to be adjusted for training at the discretion of the Department.
