Jury and Witness Leave. An employee will be granted paid leave for time spent responding to a summons for jury duty, time spent participating in the jury selection process, time spent actually serving on jury, or when subpoenaed to appear in court. An employee will not be terminated, disciplined, threatened or otherwise subjected to adverse action because of the employee’s receipt of or response to a jury summons. The employee shall present documentation of his or her jury service to the building principal or an immediate supervisor. If the subpoena is directly related to the employee’s school duties, the employee will be released for court appearance without loss of leave. Other court appearances due to personal situations will be deducted from the employee’s personal business leave.

Jury and Witness Leave. A Member who has been summoned for jury duty or as a witness by any body in Canada with the power of subpoena shall be granted paid leave of absence during the period of service to the court or summoning body.

Jury and Witness Leave. (a) An employee who is called for Jury Duty in a Court proceeding or is subpoenaed as a Crown witness shall be given time off work during the period of such duty. The employee shall suffer no loss of regular pay for the time so spent and any remuneration received by the employee during their regularly scheduled work hours for such duty shall be remitted to the Employer.

An employee will be allowed to retain any compensation paid for jury duty service. Employees subpoenaed as a witness, or whose testimony is pertinent to a work-related court or administrative hearing will receive pay at their regular rate, unless the employee: Is a party in the matter and is not represented by the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Washington, or Has an economic interest in the matter. Employees assigned to work an evening or night shift will be reassigned to a day shift for the duration of the jury or witness service.
Jury and Witness Leave. 25.09 Employees who regularly work eighteen (18) hours per week or greater and who are required to serve as a juror in a court, or who are subpoenaed to serve as a witness in a court proceeding, during a scheduled vacation may, upon request, have that period of vacation time listed be changed to jury duty or witness leave.
