Overtime Meal Period. ‌ In emergency situations where an employee is required to work four (4) or more hours beyond the end of his normal work day, he will be paid an additional forty- five (45) minutes time and one half for his forty-five (45) minute meal period whether he is able to take his meal period or not. If the overtime goes beyond the first four (4) hours, the employee will receive an additional forty-five (45) minutes time and one half for every four (4) hours of overtime worked whether he is able to take his meal period or not. Any employee who is called back to work on the same day after having completed his assigned work and left his place of employment and before his next regular scheduled starting time, will receive an additional forty-five (45) minutes time and one half for every four (4) hours of overtime worked whether he is able to take his meal period or not. This clause will not be used by Management to unreasonably deny the employee his right to take his meal period. It is understood by the employees due to extreme emergency situations, the employee may not be able to take his meal period until such time the emergency situation will allow.

Overtime Meal Period. Employees working more than ten (10) consecutive hours shall be allowed a thirty (30)-minute paid meal period. If, due to operational requirements, an employee is prohibited from taking the full thirty (30)-minute meal period, the lost meal time shall be considered additional time worked. In either case, the thirty (30) minutes will be considered time worked for the purpose of computing overtime and shift premium pay.
Overtime Meal Period. 10.08 An employee requested to work overtime beyond the regular work day and away from their regular place of employment (Cranbrook office or Columbia Valley office, as the case may be) shall be allowed a one (1) hour paid meal period at the applicable overtime rate of pay provided such overtime is in excess of two (2) consecutive hours of work. Immediately upon final execution of this Agreement, the one (1) hour meal period shall be paid at the applicable straight time rate of pay. The meal period may be taken before, during or after the overtime work as may be mutually agreed.

Overtime Meal Period. An employee who is required to work four hours of overtime following the employee’s regular full day shall then be granted one-half hour off with pay for the purpose of eating, provided the employee will be required to return for additional overtime. A similar one-half hour off with pay shall be granted for each such four-hour period of overtime to be followed by additional overtime. Unless otherwise directed by the Superintendent of Highways, an employee may normally leave the work-site during the overtime meal period.
Overtime Meal Period. When shift employees are required to work twelve (12) hours or until 7:00 p.m., they will receive two (2) twenty (20) minute paid lunch periods provided they start to work before 12:00 noon on that day. These paid lunch periods will be at a time mutually agreed on by the Union and the company. Second shift employees will be paid in accordance with the above procedure when the same circumstances occur. Failure of an employee to return to work after twenty (20) minute paid lunch period, without receiving prior permission or giving notification, will result in that employee being subject to disciplinary action.
