Hour Work Day. This Agreement is subject to 8-hour work day and wage and hour penalty laws, including, but not limited to, Labor Code 1810 and Labor Code 1813. Contractor and any subcontractor(s) of Contractor shall strictly adhere to the provisions of the Labor Code regarding 8-hour work day and 40-hour work week requirements, and overtime, Saturday, Sunday, and holiday work. Pursuant to the Labor Code, eight hours’ labor shall constitute a legal day’s work. Work performed by Contractor’s employees in excess of eight hours per day, and 40 hours during any one week, must include compensation for all hours worked in excess of eight hours per day, or 40 hours during any one week, at not less than one and one-half times the basic rate of pay. Contractor shall forfeit as a penalty to Town $25.00, or any greater penalty set forth in the Labor Code, for each worker employed in the execution of the work by Contractor or by any subcontractor(s) of Contractor, for each calendar day during which such worker is required or permitted to the work more than eight hours in one calendar day or more than 40 hours in any one calendar week in violation of the Labor Code.

Up to two (2) days of sick leave may be used each contract year to attend to the employee’s well child(ren) under the age of 13, who resides with the other parent, when the other parent is incapacitated; however, sick leave shall not be otherwise used for babysitting a well child. When on sick leave, until such point as the illness or injury is ended and the employee is able to return to work, the employee shall remain at his residence (or the residence of the family member being cared for) except for the purpose of going to a hospital, doctor, drug store or other store to obtain items needed during the period of illness or injury. If absence from the residence is necessary for any other purpose, the employee shall first obtain the permission of the Police Chief or other command officer.

  • Work Day The standard work day shall be eight (8) consecutive hours of work exclusive of a lunch period in a consecutive twenty-four (24) hour day.

  • Work Day and Work Week (A) The normal hours of work for all full-time employees shall be thirty-five (35) hours per week, or seventy (70) hours per two consecutive weeks. All employees are entitled to thirty-two (32) consecutive hours free from work each week, unless overtime rates are paid, as per Article 29.02.

  • Normal Work Day The normal work day shall be eight (8) hours and the normal work week shall be forty (40) hours, Monday through Friday, provided however that nothing herein shall be construed as guaranteeing any EMPLOYEE eight (8) hours of work per day or forty (40) hours per week.
