Consecutive Hours of Work. The daily hours of work for each employee shall be consecutive.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, non-consecutive hours may be assigned in other departments if there is mutual agreement between the employee concerned and the Employer, or if such assignment is required in order to maximize hours of work for any particular employee or group of employees. Furthermore it is agreed that, unless otherwise agreed to between the employee and his/her Department Head, the first part of a split shift shall not be for less than three (3) hours.
