Outreach and Communication. The Participants intend to work together to achieve the following outreach and communication goals: • To develop information on the recognition and prevention of workplace hazards, and to develop ways of communicating such information (e.g., print and electronic media, electronic assistance tools, and OSHA’s and the T & T Staff Management, Inc., Web sites) to employers and workers in the industry. • To speak, exhibit, or appear at OSHA’s or T & T Staff Management, Inc., conferences, local meetings, or other safety training events. • To share information among OSHA personnel and industry safety and health professionals regarding T & T Staff Management, Inc., good practices or effective approaches through training programs, workshops, seminars, and lectures (or any other applicable forum) developed by the participants. OSHA’s Alliances provide parties an opportunity to participate in a voluntary cooperative relationship with OSHA for purposes such as raising awareness of OSHA’s rulemaking and enforcement initiatives, training and education, and outreach and communication. These Alliances have proved to be valuable tools for both OSHA and its Alliance participants. By entering into an Alliance with a party, OSHA is not endorsing or promoting, nor does it intend to endorse or promote, any of that party’s products or services. An implementation team made up of representatives of each organization will meet to develop a plan of action, determine working procedures, and identify the roles and responsibilities of the participants. In addition, they will meet at least three times per year to track and share information on activities and results in achieving the goals of the Alliance. OSHA team members will include representatives of the El Paso Area Office and any other appropriate offices. OSHA will encourage State Plan States’ and OSHA On-site Consultation Projects’ participation on the team. This agreement will remain in effect for two years. Any signatory may terminate it for any reason at any time, provided they give 30 days written notice. This agreement may be modified at any time with the written concurrence of both signatories. Outreach and Communication. Describe the types of outreach and communication that will be a part of this alliance. Include, in general terms, how these will be accomplished. OE JATF will promote alliance at career fairs, safety presentations and safety events. OE JATF will advertise the alliance at the Operating Engineers Training and Education Center in Howell. OE JATF will promote the alliance through quarterly reports in both the Engineers News and the Fringe Fund News publications. Promotional announcements will be made on both Operating Engineers and OE Training Center websites.  OE JATF will encourage members at worksites to build relationships with MIOSHA to address health and safety issues. Training and Education: Include a description of training and education activities, when applicable. Do not respond if training and education is not part of the alliance.   OE JATF occasionally may request MIOSHA to assist in training our members and class participants on pre-planning and the proper use of pre-task analysis to make their jobsites safer by following the MIOSHA Standards. OE JATF will collaborate with MIOSHA to setup simulated jobsite safety inspections during some of the OE JATF/MIOSHA 10-hour and OE JATF 30-hour classes so our Operating Engineers "Target Audience" understands the importance of maintaining a safe and productive jobsite. OE JATF and MIOSHA, when requested, will help provide the skills needed to implement and participate in accident prevention programs to Operating Engineers "Target Audiences." OE JATF will give presentations at conferences, training sessions, meetings, seminars and/or other events covering the MIOSHA rules concerning cranes, rigging and signaling.

MIM will communicate through it’s website (xxx.xxx-xxxxxx.xxx), bimonthly magazine (The Story Pole), conferences, seminars, Safety Day, etc. to educate and share safety information with the construction industry and MIOSHA construction staff. ▪ . ▪ MIM will publish annually one article, authored by XXXXXX, in The Story Pole for the xxxxx contractor issue pertaining to wall bracing or other masonry related issues. ▪ XXXXXX will publish annually one article, authored by XXX, in their newsletter, MIOSHA News, pertaining to wall bracing or other masonry related issues. ▪ XXXXXX will create and update as necessary a Construction Fact Sheet that addresses masonry wall bracing and accepts the Standard Practice “For Bracing Masonry Walls Under Construction and Masonry Wallbracing Design Handbook” published by the Xxxxx Contractors Association of America as an industry standard. The Construction Fact Sheet will be posted on the MIOSHA website (xxx.xxxxxxxx.xxx/XXXXXX) with a link under Part 2. Masonry Wall Bracing on the MIOSHA Standards page. MIM will inform the construction industry of changes in XXXXXX’s Administrative and Standards to keep the construction industry current with interpretation and compliance relative to wall bracing. ⚫ Training and Education: Include a description of training and education activities, when applicable. Do not respond if training and education is not part of the alliance. MIM will train and educate the construction industry and MIOSHA on temporarily bracing masonry walls under construction safely above grade in accordance with the Standard Practice for Bracing Masonry Walls Under Construction and Masonry Wall Bracing Design Handbook. The success of the Alliance will be measured with the monitoring of wall blow downs, injuries, and citations issued. It is anticipated that Part 2 Wall Bracing Standard’s concerns are identified, remedied, and then implemented. ▪ MIM will conduct one training session annually to discuss and demonstrate proper wall bracing procedures for MIOSHA construction staff relative to the updated Part 2 Wall Bracing Standard ▪ MIM will conduct at least one training session annually to discuss and demonstrate proper wall bracing procedures for masonry industry personnel and other construction employees relative to the updated Part 2 Wall Bracing Standard ⚫ Promoting Dia...

Distribute safety and health resources for metalforming industry companies in Michigan, such as safety posters, checklists, and training programs. Promote the goals and objectives of this Alliance through newsletters, websites, and other means of communication, including reciprocal website links. Promote and encourage members of the PMA East and West Michigan Districts to participate in MIOSHA’s free onsite consultation to assist employers with compliance and the development of a safety and health system. Also, PMA would serve as a resource on special issues involving lockout/tagout and power press safeguarding in the metalforming industry. • Training and Education: Include a description of training and education activities, when applicable. Do not respond if training and education is not part of the alliance. Develop and conduct safety and health programs for the PMA East and West Michigan Districts. Coordinate training for some MIOSHA staff to increase their understanding of the hazards in the metalforming industry. • Promoting Dialogue: Include a description of how this alliance will promote dialogue in Michigan related to workplace safety and health issues. Do not respond if promoting dialogue is not part of the alliance. Coordinate efforts for the PMA East and West Michigan Districts to dialogue with MIOSHA through forums or roundtable discussions to forge innovative solutions in the workplace or to provide input on safety and health issues. PMA will share lockout/tagout system information used in the metalforming industry. PMA will participate in MTI training courses related to the metalforming industry and provide feedback to MIOSHA on the content of these programs. PMA will participate on standard advisory committees where appropriate to lend expertise on issues that affect the metalforming industry. To share information among MIOSHA personnel and industry safety and health professionals regarding ASSE – Greater Detroit Chapter, West Michigan Chapter, and Lansing Chapter good practices or effective approaches through training programs, workshops, seminars, and lectures (or any other applicable forum) developed by the participants. To work with other alliance participants on specific issues and projects related to occupational safety and health issues that are addressed and developed through the alliance program. To develop and disseminate case studies on occupational safety and health issues and publicize their results. Do not respond if training and education is not part of the alliance. ▪ Develop training programs targeted for telecommunications industry specifications. ▪ Disseminate safety information to employees and management on related issues. ▪ Use all available resources that MIOSHA can offer to further our training and educational processes. • Promoting Dialogue: Include a description of how this alliance will promote dialogue in Michigan related to workplace safety and health issues. MLTAI's minimum goal is to train five thousand participants each year. Many of those participants come as a result of contractor orientations, return-to-work spring kick-offs, and safety meetings. MLTAI plans to work with MIOSHA to guarantee that the MIOSHA regulations are implemented with a focus on Work Zone and Fall Protection training. MLTAI will share all methods of communication, including our quarterly newsletter (with a mailing to over ten thousand participants) and our website which receives over ten thousand hits each year. MIOSHA will provide MLTAI with at least one article a year to be posted in the MLTAI newsletter. MLTAI will also advertise the Alliance and the MIOSHA Training Institute during contractor orientations, health fairs, and safety events.

Through communication we will spread the information and promote MIOSHA consultation services to employers. We will accomplish this through our website, faxes, newsletters, committee meetings, networking and general member meetings. We feel that working, as partners will increase the number of employers dedicating themselves to the very important topic of safety and health.
