Health and Safety Issues. A. The Board and the Association shall establish a joint committee to develop procedures to be used during instances of health and safety problems at the school sites. The Committee shall be composed of eight (8) appointees, four (4) by the Superintendent and four (4) by the Association.

Health and Safety Issues. In companies where an internal safety organisation is not required, the trade union representative may present complaints and make recommendations to the employer concerning occupational health and safety issues. In companies with an internal safety organisation, health and safety issues should be submitted to the organisations for consideration. In companies with a health and safety committee, complaints should first be submitted to that committee for consideration. If no solution is found, the complainant shall, through his/her organisation, submit a request for consideration by the organisations. The request shall be accompanied by the minutes of the consideration by the health and safety committee. The trade union representative(s) for the area concerned shall be informed of the request for consideration.
Health and Safety Issues. In the event that an employee has a health and safety concern, the employee shall first bring that concern to a bargaining unit member. The bargaining unit member, acting as a health and safety committee, will discuss the concern with the Sheriff or the Sheriff’s designee. If the concern cannot be resolved, the Committee and the Sheriff will meet with representatives of the Board of Commissioners to resolve the matter. The decision of the Board of Commissioners representatives will be final and binding.

To achieve the above the LA will to work in partnership with GwE to o coordinate the support and challenge functions to establish a high challenge-high support system where Headteachers and Governors take responsibility for developing capacity within the system to drive up standards and outcomes for learners; o build capacity for self-improvement within the system and ensuring stability; hold all parties in the system to account; commission effective support and challenge on behalf of schools and supporting schools to be effective commissioners and act as a challenging advocate to ensure the welfare and progress of all children. The LA will lead on strategy for school modernisation. School to school support, collaboration and challenge will be at the heart of the Consortium’s school improvement system - this will provide the platform to stimulate the sharing of expertise and effective practice, challenge present practices and performance to improve learner outcomes and the performance of every school. The LA, in close collaboration with GwE, will actively promote the development of school-to-school support. It will also provide support for schools in all other aspects which are outside the direct remit of school improvement. These certifications may include, but are not limited to; scissor lift, boom lift, scaffold user and OSHA certifications. All approved safety orders of the Nevada State Industrial Insurance System shall be observed by the Contractor and the employees. No employee shall be required to work under conditions which are in contravention of State Workers Compensation safety orders or regulations. No finishing machine shall be used unless it has a satisfactory guard. All long-handled tools shall have fiberglass handles or be made of non- conductive materials. No work shall be left under machine finish, unless called for by the owner or General Contractor. No walking trowel shall be used on slabs for trowel finishing. During summer months, cool water, proper drinking cups and salt tablets shall be made available. Access to proper and sanitary toilets shall be provided. All safety tools as well as specialty tools will be furnished by the Contractor.
