Section Bereavement Leave. Leave of absence of three (3) days excluding regular days off shall be granted, without loss of pay, to a member attending the funeral of a member of family, the family being defined as: mother, father, spouse, brother, sister, or children. Leave of absence of not more than three (3) days between death and burial shall be granted, without loss of pay, to a member attending the funeral of a member of family, the family being defined as: grandparent, grandchild, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in- law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, or a person standing "in loco parentis" Leave of absence of one (1) day shall be granted, without loss of pay, to a member attending the funeral of a member of family, the family being defined as: aunt, uncle, xxxxx, nephew or xxxxxx's grandparent. (new 1999) When a member is unable to attend the funeral service, leave of absence of one day without loss of pay, shall be granted at the discretion of the Chief of Police, to the said member to attend a memorial service held in conjunction with the funeral of a member of family as defined in sub-sections and (renumbered 1999)

Section Bereavement Leave. Effective February an employee shall be granted paid bereavement leave as follows: Upon the death of a spouse, common-law spouse, child, father, mother, sister, brother, a of four (4) working days up to and including the day after the funeral. Upon the death of a mother-in-law, father-in-law, law, sister-in-law a maximum of three (3) working days up to and including the day of the funeral. Section Bereavement Leave. When death occurs to a member of a regular full-time employee’s immediate family, the employee will be granted an appropriate leave of absence and he shall be compensated at his regular straight time hourly rate for hours lost from his regular schedule for a maximum of three days. Employees will be required to provide the Company with reasonable proof of death (e.g.: newspaper notice, etc.). Section Bereavement Leave. In the event of death of the following relations of an employee, the employee will be considered on bereavement leave and will be paid lost time for scheduled work days only at the regular rate of pay up to hours per day.
