Death in the Immediate Family. The teacher may take a maximum of five (5) sick days per death at the time of the death. Immediate family shall be interpreted as mother, father, husband, wife, grandparents, grandchild, child, sister, and brother of teacher and/or his/her spouse. One (1) of these days must be the funeral day.

Additional days may be granted upon written request to the Superintendent when circumstances require a lengthier absence. In the event of death in other than the immediate family where extenuating circumstances exist, a request should be directed to the Superintendent and said request will thereafter be considered. For the purposes of clarification, the immediate family is defined as including father, mother, husband, wife, children, sister, brother, father‐in‐law, mother‐in‐law, sister‐ in‐ law, brother‐in‐law, son‐in‐law, daughter‐in‐law, grandparents, and grandchildren.

Death in the Immediate Family. (a)In the event of death in the immediate family of an employee, the employee shall be allowed five (5) days' leave with pay at the time of death. For the purpose of this provision, the immediate family shall mean: husband or wife, mother or father, son or daughter.

Immediate family as used herein means husband, wife, parents, brothers, sisters, own children, grandparents, grandchild and close in-law relatives of any employee or the death of any relative who is living in the home of the employee immediately prior to his or her death. In the event of the death of more than one immediate family member in one year the Superintendent may grant additional bereavement leave.
Death in the Immediate Family. 1. A teacher shall be allowed, without loss of pay, a leave of not more than five (5) consecutive school days because of a death in his/her immediate family or because of a death of a relative (providing the relative has been living in the home of the teacher).
Death in the Immediate Family. When a death occurs in the immediate family, the employee may be absent three days without loss of pay. Any further approved absence beyond the three days because of death in the family, will be without loss of pay, at the discretion of the Superintendent.
