Political Check-Off. Pursuant to legislation, the STATE shall upon presentation of a proper and duly signed authorization form, deduct from the salary of each employee in the negotiations unit a sum specified by the employee and not to exceed the limits prescribed by law, for the purpose of contributing to the UNION Committee on Political Education (COPE). This provision applies to present and future members and non-member employees in the negotiations unit. The fee deductions referred to above shall be forwarded to the Council of NJ State College Locals promptly and in accordance with the provisions of applicable law. In the event that a College/University receives a COPE deduction card directly from an employee, rather than the Local UNION or the Council of NJ State College Locals, the College/University shall provide the Council of NJ State College Locals with a copy of the card at the time the next COPE deductions are sent to the Council of NJ State College Locals.

This provision applies to present and future members and non-member employees in the collective negotiations unit. The fee deductions referred to above shall be forwarded to URA-AFT in accordance with the provisions of applicable law and as described more particularly in Appendix B and Appendix C to this Agreement.

Political Check-Off. (a) Employer agrees to deduct uniform political contributions on a weekly basis from the net wages due an employee each week for any employee covered by this Agreement who has provided Employer with a voluntary individual written authorization to make such deductions on a form that has been mutually agreed upon by Employer and Union. The deduction shall be expressly limited to political contributions only and Employer shall have no obligation whatsoever to make deductions. Employer’s responsibility shall be solely limited to deducting the correct amount from each contributing employee and transmitting that amount to the Union. If there are not enough wages to cover the contribution, Employer shall deduct the maximum possible but will not be carrying any balance to another week.
Political Check-Off. The City hereby agrees to honor contribution deduction authorizations from employees who are members of the Union in the following form: "I hereby authorize the City to deduct from my pay the sum of one (1) cent per hour per paycheck and to forward that amount to the Financial Secretary of the Union. This authorization is voluntarily made on the specific understanding that the signing of this authorization and the making of payments to the Local 517M Political Committee are not conditions of membership in the Union or of Employment with the City and that the Local 517M Political Committee will use the money it receives to make political expenditures in connection with federal, state, and local elections". The employee as his/her authorization to check-off must sign the form. The City will implement this program when the personnel/payroll system is operational.

Political Check-Off. Albertson’s (“Employer”) agrees to deduct uniform political contributions on a monthly basis from the net wages due an employee each month of each employee covered by this collective bargaining agreement who has provided Albertson’s with a voluntary individual written authorization to make such deductions on a form that has been mutually agreed upon by Albertson’s and UFCW Local 1564 (Union). The Union agrees to indemnify and hold the Employer fully harmless for any liability that arises out of or by reason of any action taken by the Employer in accordance with this Letter of Understanding. The deduction shall be expressly limited to political contributions only and the Employer shall have no obligation whatsoever to make deductions for any purpose other than dues deductions in accordance with Article 3, Union Security and Employment Procedures, and Article 4, Check-Off, of the collective bargaining agreement effective June 2003 to June 3, 2006. Employer shall be notified of the amounts designated by each contributing employee that are to be deducted from his/her paycheck on a monthly basis for all weeks worked. The phrase “weeks worked” excludes any week other than a week in which the employee earned a wage. The Employer shall transmit to the Union, on a monthly basis, in one check, the total amount deducted along with the name of each employee on whose behalf a deduction is made. The Employer shall have no responsibility for the application of the amounts transmitted in accordance with this paragraph. No deductions will be made from the wages of any such employee until the Employer has received a signed copy of a voluntary written authorization to make such deductions with such authorization to be received by the Employer no later than the first day of the month in which the deductions are to commence in order to be deducted for that month. Authorization for such deduction is to be entirely voluntary on the part of each such individual employee. Any such employee may revoke his individual voluntary authorization upon giving thirty (30) days’ written notice to the Employer and the Union.

An employee shall retain his or her right to vote and freely express opinions on all political subjects. An employee shall not be prohibited from participation in local community activities or from holding public office in the community in which the employee resides, provided that such activity does not conflict with Section 3.01 of the Rules and Regulations for Personnel Administration (and the Federal Hatch Act to the extent that employees of agencies receiving federal funds are subject thereto).

  • Political Activities Grant funds cannot be used for the following activities:

  • Political Activity Prohibited a. None of the funds, materials, property or services provided directly or indirectly under this contract shall be used for partisan political activity.

  • Political Leave Any employee who is a declared candidate for public office shall have the right to a leave of absence without pay for a reasonable period to campaign for the election. Such leave is subject to the conditions governing special leaves of absence without pay contained herein.
