Political Activity Sample Clauses

Political Activity. 11 CONTRACTOR agrees that the funds provided herein shall not be used to promote, 12 directly or indirectly, any political party, political candidate, or political activity, except as 13 permitted by law.
Political Activity. An employee shall not use his or her official authority for the purpose of interfering with or affecting the nomination or election of any candidate for public office. An employee shall not command or solicit in a coercive fashion from any other employee direct or indirect participation in any political activity or enforce or solicit in a coercive fashion contribution for any political party, organization, or candidate. An employee shall retain his or her right to vote and freely express opinions on all political subjects. An employee shall not be prohibited from participation in local community activities or from holding public office in the community in which the employee resides, provided that such activity does not conflict with Section 3.01 of the Rules and Regulations for Personnel Administration (and the Federal Hatch Act to the extent that employees of agencies receiving federal funds are subject thereto).
Political Activity. None of the funds, materials, property, or services provided directly or indirectly under this Contract shall be used for any partisan political activity, or to further the election or defeat of any candidate for public office, or otherwise in violation of the provisions of the "Hatch Act".
Political Activity. The Recipient agrees to comply with: (1) The Hatch Act, 5 U.S.C. chapter 15, which limits the political activities of state and local government agencies supported in whole or in part with federal assistance, including the political activities of state and local government officers and employees whose principal governmental employment activities are supported in whole or in part with federal assistance; (2) U.S. Office of Personnel Management regulations, “Political Activity of State or Local Officers or Employees,” 5 CFR Part 151; and (3) 49 U.S.C. § 5323(l)(2) and 23 U.S.C. § 142(g), which limits the applicability of the Hatch Act, as follows: (i) The Hatch Act does not apply to nonsupervisory employees of a public transportation system, or any other agency or entity performing related functions, based upon the Award of federal assistance under 49 U.S.C. chapter 53 or 23 U.S.C. § 142(a)(2); but (ii) Notwithstanding the preceding section 4(e)(3)(ii) of this Master Agreement, the Hatch Act does apply to a nonsupervisory employee if imposed for a reason other than the Award of federal assistance to its employer under 49 U.S.C. chapter 53 or 23 U.S.C. § 142(a)(2).
Political Activity. The Subrecipient or Contractor will comply with the provisions of the Hatch Act (5 U.S.C. 1501 et seq.), which limits the political activity of employees.
Political Activity. A leave of absence may be granted for one semester or one year to an employee who desired to run for office or take part in political activity. This provision recognizes the rights and obligations of employees to be participating citizens in such activities as voting, discussing political issues, campaigning for candidates, or running for and serving in public office. Such a leave would be granted without pay.

Political Activity. 5.1: There shall be no discrimination against any employee covered by this Agreement by reason of political affiliation. 5.2: No employee covered by this Agreement shall, directly or indirectly, solicit or take part in soliciting an assessment, subscription or contribution from any employee of the City for any political organization or purpose during work hours or on City property. 5.3: No employee covered by this Agreement who is elected to public office for the City shall be employed in any position with the City during the term for which elected. Said employee, after such election, shall resign from City employment.
Political Activity. The Contractor’s provision of services under this Agreement shall not include any partisan political activity or any activity to further the election or defeat of any candidate for public, political, or party office, nor shall any of the funds provided under this Agreement be used for such purposes.
