Tuition Reimbursement. Consistent with the State's Administrative Procedure 21, at the discretion of the President/designee, an ASF Member may receive tuition reimbursement. The discretionary function of the Employer as provided in this Section shall not be subject to the grievance procedure.

Tuition Reimbursement. The City shall provide one hundred percent (100%) reimbursement of tuition for educational courses up to a maximum of one thousand two hundred dollars ($1,200) per year in accordance with the following stipulations:
Tuition Reimbursement. Upon written approval by the Fire Chief and Human Resources Manager, the City shall pay one hundred percent (100%) of tuition, lab fees, required textbooks, and ancillary written course materials, not to exceed one-thousand, five-hundred dollars ($1,500.00) per fiscal year. For tuition reimbursement to be considered (subject to final approval), advance notice of tuition reimbursement requests must be submitted to the Fire Chief prior to the class start date and time. In the case the employee has limited notice of the training opportunity, an email may be submitted to the Fire Chief and shall serve as advanced notice when followed up by the completion of the appropriate documentation on the employee’s next work shift. If no request is submitted to the Fire Chief prior to the class start date and time, the employee will be ineligible for tuition reimbursement. Tuition reimbursement is intended to pay for required and elective courses in a degree or certificate program in which the employee is enrolled in fire science, public or business administration, management, industrial or civil engineering, or political science. Tuition reimbursement is also available for advanced training in a fire science program with advance written approval by the Fire Chief and Human Resources Manager. The Fire Chief may approve the use of tuition reimbursement for education classes or conferences that do not satisfy a degree or certificate program. The approval of these classes by the Fire Chief will be determined to satisfy the training and operational needs of the city for which the employee is being allowed to attend outside of the normal city training program(s) process. Payment will be made only upon receipt of proof of course completion with a final grade of "C" or higher. Where a course is graded "satisfactory" or "unsatisfactory", only the "satisfactory" grade will be accepted. Where a course is not graded, payment will be made upon receipt of a Certificate of Completion.
Tuition Reimbursement. Tuition and registration fees shall be reimbursed to full-time employees if the course/courses or degree program are related to the employee's current responsibilities or are related to the employee's future potential career development with the City of Batavia. Preliminary Approval of Tuition Reimbursement Employees wishing to receive reimbursement of anticipated tuition costs from an accredited college, junior college, or university must receive advance approval from the Chief of Police and the City Administrator prior to enrolling in the course or beginning a degree program. The employee must make a written request to their department head at least 30 days prior to the beginning of a course or degree program that demonstrates how the course or degree program will either enhance the employee's abilities to perform their current job, or enhance the employee's usefulness to the City later in their career with the City. If the Chief of Police approves, the request will be forwarded to the City Administrator for final approval. The City Administrator's decision will be final and will be based on budgetary constraints as well as the reasonableness of the employee's request. Along with their written request, the employee must fill in the top half of the "Application for Advance/Reimbursement of Training Expense" from, leaving the section "Payment Advance" blank, but completing the "Estimated Cost." All signatures must be obtained prior to registration for the course. Upon successful completion of a course, reimbursement shall occur as described below. Reimbursement Schedule Upon receiving notice that an employee has successfully completed an approved course, the City will reimburse the employee as follows: • If the employee receives a grade of 'B' or higher they shall receive a reimbursement of 100% of their costs for tuition and student fees. • Ifthe employee receives a grade of 'C' they shall receive a reimbursement of 80% of their costs for tuition and student fees. • No reimbursement will be given for grades below 'C' or for classes that are incomplete. • Under no circumstances will an employee receive more than $4150 per year in tuition and fee reimbursements.
Tuition Reimbursement. The County may reimburse workers for tuition and related fees paid for courses of study taken in off-duty status if the subject matter is closely related to the worker's present or probable future work assignments. Limits to the amount of reimbursable expense may be set by the Human Resources Director with the County Manager's concurrence. There must be a reasonable expectation that the worker's work performance or value to the County will be enhanced as a result of the course of study. Courses taken as part of a program of study for a college undergraduate or graduate degree will be evaluated individually for job relatedness under the above criteria. The worker must both begin and successfully complete the course while employed by the County. The worker must apply on the prescribed form to their department head giving all information needed for an evaluation of the request. The department head shall recommend approval or disapproval and forward the request to the Human Resources Director whose decision shall be final. In order to be reimbursed the worker's application must have been approved before enrolling in the course. If a course is approved and later found to be unavailable a substitute course may be approved after enrollment. Upon completion of the course the worker must submit to Human Resources a request for reimbursement accompanied by a copy of the school grade report or a certificate of completion. Human Resources shall, if it approves the request, forward it to the Controller for payment. Reimbursement may include the costs of tuition and related fees. Effective July 1, 2007, the County will reimburse up to $25.00 per course for books under conditions specified in the Tuition Reimbursement program. Reimbursement for books will only be made for community college, undergraduate level or graduate level courses.

Tuition Reimbursement. 1. When a Career Development leave is approved for the purpose of engaging in specific educational activity, tuition expenses shall be reimbursed at full cost. The limitations set forth in Article XXVIII of the Master Agreement shall not apply. Recommendations for approval for tuition reimbursement may be submitted by the CDC to the President.
