Xxxx Days. Each Employee is allowed the equivalent of eight (8) working days sick leave per year, i.e. if an Employee's normal working day is four (4) hours per day, one working day of sick leave would be four (4) hours. This may be accumulated to 70 days. Employees are to notify their supervisor as soon as possible if they are to be absent. Notification should not be less than one (1) hour before scheduled shift unless an emergency. Up to four (4) days per fiscal year of the Employee’s such sick days may be used for family illness (children, spouse, and parents). Not to be used for routine care of the family. Employees who have exhausted their accumulated sick leave and who remain unable to report for work as a result of a disability shall be placed on an unpaid leave of absence for such time as necessary for adequate recovery from illness. Upon return to work the Employee will be returned to his/her former position, if available, or if not available, then to a comparable position. The Board may require a doctor's statement regarding the necessity for any sick leave and/or verifying the ability of the Employee to return to work when necessary. The Employee shall return to work when his/her physician indicates the Employee is able to do so. Absence of over one year or failure to return when so indicated may result in the Employee's termination.
Xxxx Days. Fifteen (15) per year for twelve-month positions (cumulative to 270), Twelve (12) per year for eleven-month positions (cumulative to 240), and ten (10) per year for ten-month positions (cumulative to 200). Each new hire to the Unit will receive up to 90 days sick leave based upon the accrued sick leave with the immediate past employer. Effective July 1, 2003, then current Unit Members were given credit for sick days in the same way plus those accrued while in the District.
Xxxx Days. Each full-time teacher employed under regular or temporary contract shall be entitled to be absent from work on account of personal illness or quarantine for a total of eleven (11) days for first year employees and for all others, ten (10) days without loss of compensation. If in any one school year the teacher shall be absent for such illness or quarantine less than the prescribed number of days, the remaining days shall be accumulative to a total of 196 days. Sick days, as defined above, may also be used for illness of spouse, children, father, mother, legal guardian, brother, sister, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, any member of the step family, grandchildren, grandparent or others living in the home with the employee, or for medical and dental appointments. A teacher employed under regular or temporary contract for only a portion of the school year shall be entitled to a proportionate number of days of sick leave, and unused days will be accumulative as specified herein. Verification of illness by a physician's statement may be required at the sole discretion of the school employer.
Xxxx Days. The District will provide the Superintendent with 15 sick days per school year, of which the Superintendent may accumulate no more than 5 sick days per school year and no more than 50 unused sick days during the entire period of her service as Superintendent of Schools. Accumulated unused sick days accrued by the Superintendent while previously working for the District as a Central Office Administrator will be applied to her accumulated sick leave bank as Superintendent. The Superintendent will notify the District’s business office, in writing and no later than July 30 following each school year, of unused sick days from the previous school year and, in the absence of such notification, will be deemed to have used all sick days available to her. Upon the termination of the Superintendent’s employment with the District, the Superintendent will not be compensated for earned but unused sick days.
Xxxx Days. All secretaries will report to work on snow days. In the event of extreme weather conditions as determined by the Superintendent or designee, secretarial personnel will be notified by Superintendent or designee that they are not required to report to work. Any employee who finds it impossible to report to work due to the weather conditions, may use a personal leave day, a vacation day or an unpaid day.
Xxxx Days. Twelve (12) days per year, without loss of pay, cumulative to a maximum of ninety (90) days, will be allowed when confined at home or hospital, as a result of an accident, sickness or emergency absence, because of death, or critical illness of a member of the immediate family. This time will be allowed for childbirth or days when members of the immediate family have surgery. After the third consecutive day of absence, the Administration may require a doctor's statement confirming illness or disability. Anyone absent the day before and/or the day after a holiday or recess period, or absent the day of a PD, or the first and last day of semester may be required to provide a medical provider excuse in order to be paid sick day pay. Teachers who have completed their contractual year and have accumulated over seventy-eight (78) sick/personal days shall receive compensation for those excess days $50 per day to be paid by June 30th of that contractual year, unless they are retiring, in which case the provisions of Article 13.4 – Settlement for Sick Days at Retirement apply.
Xxxx Days. HSOs shall accrue, as of the commencement of their employment, and annually thereafter, fourteen (14) days of paid sick leave. Unused sick leave may be accumulated and carried over to subsequent years. Sick leave may be used for illnesses caused or contributed to by pregnancy.
Xxxx Days. The Superintendent shall be entitled to receive twenty-two (22) paid sick days each contract year. The Superintendent's sick day account shall be so credited on July 1st each contract year. The number of sick days shall be pro-rated for any partial years of service as Superintendent. Sick leave shall be used for personal illness of the Superintendent. Unused days shall be accumulated from year to year to a maximum accumulation of 180 days. The parties recognize that upon hire, the Superintendent was permitted to roll- over 146 accumulated unused sick days from Region 9 School District.
