Sick Days. (a) Any employee who has been employed by the Employer for three (3) months or longer shall be entitled to five (5) sick days per calendar year. Sick days will be automatically allocated for all unscheduled absences. Unused sick days shall be paid out on the last pay period of the year or at the time of separation. 62
Sick Days. An employee granted child-rearing leave is paid via use of sick days only when the employee is actually incapacitated and unable to work due to disability resulting from pregnancy, birth and/or recovery there from during the employee's usual days of work. For example, if the employee is incapacitated during the summer, the employee receives no pay. However, for a period of incapacity resulting from pregnancy, birth and/or recovery there from that extends into the work year (e.g. a delivery date of June 2 or August 25), the employee will be paid via use of sick days, even if the employee takes the rest of the school year off on child-rearing leave.
Sick Days. If the Superintendent is absent from duty on account of personal illness or disability, she shall be allowed full pay for a total of twelve (12) days per contract year. Sick Days. Each full-time teacher employed under regular or temporary contract shall be entitled to be absent from work on account of personal illness or quarantine for a total of eleven (11) days for first year employees and for all others, ten (10) days without loss of compensation. If in any one school year the teacher shall be absent for such illness or quarantine less than the prescribed number of days, the remaining days shall be accumulative to a total of 196 days, provided, however, that up to a total of twelve (12) sick leave days per year may also be used for illness of spouse, children, father, mother, legal guardian, brother, sister, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, any member of the step family, grandchildren, grandparent or others living in the home with the employee, or for medical and dental appointments. A teacher employed under regular or temporary contract for only a portion of the school year shall be entitled to a proportionate number of days of sick leave, and unused days will be accumulative as specified herein. Verification of illness by a physician's statement may be required at the sole discretion of the school employer.
