Mission and Purpose. 2.1 The mission of the SRO program is the reduction and prevention of school-related violence and crime committed by juveniles and young adults, the reduction of the fear of crime on school campuses, and building effective partnerships with the faculty and staff of CSISD. This is accomplished by assigning Law Enforcement Officers to school facilities. The SRO Program accomplishes this mission by creating and maintaining safe, secure and orderly learning environments for students, teachers, and staff.

Mission and Purpose. The Museum’s mission is the preservation and education of railroading history in Fort Bend County, Texas. Exhibits span railroading history from the early days of Texas development through current railroading corporations and provide insight into the untold stories of the working-class and minorities. Programs deliver an interactive experience for guests of all ages. Guests can manipulate an engine simulator and interlocker machine. A viewing platform provides a safe space to watch passing freight trains. Model train layouts connect hobbyists to railroading of the past and allow imaginations to build for the future. Xxxxxxxxx'x Tower 17, on display at the Museum, connects guests to over 100 years of community and railroading history while highlighting the men and women who worked there. Guests can step back in time when they explore the 1970's caboose or the 1879 passenger railcar. The Museum's education program incorporates science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) concepts in addition to the railroading history covered by tours. These program modules are primarily provided through field trips for many Fort Bend County public and private schools, including Title I schools. Title I school students typically test lower in math, science, and history and are often not exposed to museums or other cultural activities. The Museum believes that by offering educational opportunities outside of the public school system, the Museum provides a way of learning that improves retention, increases the knowledge base of the students and in the long term, improves Fort Bend County as a whole. In addition, the Museum offers merit badge programs for Scouts, preschool learning experiences and other classes covering a wide variety of STEM and history topics. Other programs include Discovery Day, which is a free museum day open to all, popular festivals, and family fun days. Discovery Day and the festivals are designed to be both entertaining and educational. Over the last seven (7) years the Museum has focused on improving the visitor experience and infrastructure. Improved and enhanced programs and infrastructure projects, with over $650,000 in new investment, include the renovation of the Education Station building, new Garden Railroad exhibit, restoration of the MOPAC Caboose and Quebec passenger car exteriors, improvements to Tower 17 and Gallery exhibits, landscaping and hardscaping improvements and the addition of mobility and English and Spanish language interpr...

Mission and Purpose. The Alameda County EmployeesRetirement Association (ACERA) exists for the purposes of providing accurate, timely benefits to its members and their beneficiaries and defraying reasonable expenses of administration. The Board of Retirement (the Board), having exclusive authority and exclusive fiduciary responsibility for the investment and administration of the Trust Fund (the Fund), hereby establishes the following “General Investment Guidelines, Policies and Procedures” (the Policy) for the investment of ACERA’s assets. The Board reserves the right to amend, supplement, or rescind this Policy at any time. The Board is directed by law and given discretion to prudently invest the retirement plan assets.
