The contractor shall take all necessary precautions for the safety of the workers and preserving their health while working on such jobs as required special protection and precaution wherever required. The following are some of the requirements listed though not exhaustive. The contractor shall also comply with the directions issued by the Engineer in this behalf from time to time at all times. Safety Measures. SECTION 1. The Employer and the employee will conform to all Federal and State health and safety regulations applicable to work covered by this Agreement and shall have adequate shelters available where necessary, with heat, where the workers can change and dry their clothes and store their tools. On all projects covered by this Agreement, there shall be provided by the Employer, at all times during construction, sanitary facilities consisting of a reasonable number of toilets and urinals. Fresh drinking water will be available to the workers. Employer will furnish welding equipment, including all leathers, hard hats, eye protection, ear protection, respirators, safety belts and lanyards, and reflective vests.

Employees required to work in shops or in dangerous and/or adverse conditions will be supplied with all tools, equipment, protective clothing, and safety glasses to meet those conditions. In addition, the Employer will supply one pair of safety shoes/boots every year providing the employee, by the nature of her/his work, is required to wear this type of footwear to prevent or minimize possible injury. The Employer, after consultation with the employee, shall decide the appropriate CSA level of safety for the work to be done. The employee may select the style of footwear. When the Employer arranges for a display of footwear to assist in the selection, it will endeavour to provide a wide selection of styles to choose from.
Safety Measures. All employees either working with or in close proximity to any hazardous product or dangerous material will be supplied with adequate and sufficient training, education, tools, and safety equipment so as not to be exposed to unacceptable risks of the hazardous product or dangerous material. The training, tools, and equipment to be used will be determined by the Health and Safety representative in consultation with the relevant Health and Safety Committee consistent with pertinent legislation and accepted protocols.

To limit or prevent access to the Property, shut down elevator service, activate elevator emergency controls, or otherwise take such action or preventative measures deemed necessary by Landlord for the safety of tenants or other occupants of the Property or the protection of the Property and other property located thereon or therein, in case of fire, invasion, insurrection, riot, civil disorder, public excitement or other dangerous condition, or threat thereof.
