Vacancies and Promotions – Posting. The Superintendent of NSSEO shall have posted in all school buildings a notice of all vacancies covered by this contract, and promotional positions, as they occur. Such notice shall be accompanied by a statement of the minimum qualifications and salary range. Every attempt will be made to post all vacancies for licensed and other positions for at least ten (10) employee working days.

Vacancies and Promotions – Posting. For the purpose of this section, all time limits shall consist of calendar days, excluding Saturday, Sunday and Holidays. The Superintendent will post in all buildings a notice of all vacancies including vacancies in promotional positions as they occur. Except in the case of emergency, no vacancy shall be filled until such vacancy has been posted for at least 5 days. A copy of the posting notice shall be sent to the Association President. If a vacancy occurs or a new position is created during the school year in any bargaining unit classification, the position will be posted within 5 days and filled as soon as a suitable candidate is found. If current employees apply for the position the most senior qualified applicant, if any, will be given the position based upon relevant experience, the stated qualifications for the vacancy and the results of any employment examination if developed and administered by the District. All vacancy notices shall contain the title of each position, qualifications, location, hours, and the deadline for making application, (e.g. paraprofessionals, associate’s degree, Brighton North, 3 hours, etc.). An employee applying for a vacancy shall send a letter of application by the deadline posted. All internal applicants shall be interviewed and considered. A vacancy shall be defined as a permanent position which has been newly created, or which has previously existed and has been vacated due to transfer, promotion, reassignment, resignation, retirement, death or termination. The term "vacancy" shall not apply to any position from which an employee is absent due to leave. Temporary positions are those for less than two (2) consecutive calendar quarters.
Vacancies and Promotions – Posting. The Superintendent shall give notice of all vacancies the District intends to fill for Teachers. This includes vacancies in promotional positions, coaching positions, and part-time positions as they occur or as they are anticipated throughout the year. A copy of such notice shall be given to the Association President. When posting positions for the following school year, external candidates will not be interviewed for 7 days after the website posting to allow for consideration of voluntary transfers. All notices shall be posted on the Triad Web Site. It is the responsibility of the Teacher to contact Central Office concerning any available vacancies. In the event the District considers not filling a vacancy, the Association President will be notified in writing and the association shall have the opportunity to bargain the decision and impact to impasse. The District will not be required to post a vacancy that it determines not to fill following negotiations with the Association.
Vacancies and Promotions – Posting. Notice of all licensed vacancies covered in this agreement shall be posted on the district website and emailed to all staff. By April 15, the Superintendent or his/her designee shall have posted for 12 days on the district website a list of vacancies for the next school year. The postings shall contain a brief description of the job, the license required, a statement of the required qualifications and/or experience. Any teacher may apply for any job posted on or before the deadline stated on the posting. Postings shall be filled on the basis of experience, competency, qualifications of the applicant, length of applicant's service in the district, and other relevant factors. Nothing in this Agreement however, shall obligate the Board to select any applicant or fill a vacancy. In addition, between April 16 and the last day of staff attendance, the Superintendent or his/her designee shall post on the website, for 5 calendar days, vacancies for the next school year that become known during that period. Between July 15 and July 31, the Board may post vacancies in the same manner as April 15.

No later than April 1 of each school year, the Superintendent or his representative shall post on the District website and send electronically to all staff via their District email account a list of the known vacancies or new positions which will occur during the following school year.
