TIME POSITIONS. Section 1. A part time teacher is defined as any properly licensed teacher performing part time duties and excluding long term substitutes.

The Employer recognizes the need to maintain full time and temporary full time positions within the following “staff model” homes and “staff model” programs where staff support is provided on a shift basis: Headon Residence and Headon House Pinecove and Day Services Supported Independent Living Program

If an employee restricts their availability, they will not be considered to be a full-time employee. The Parties acknowledge that: Effective upon ratification of this renewal Collective Agreement, the thresholds outlined for part- time and full-time employees in Article 3.01 shall be amended so that part-time employees will now be entitled to work for more than thirteen and one-third (13-1/3) hours and less than thirty-two (32) hours per week, and full-time employees shall be entitled to work an average of thirty-two (32) hours or more per week as a result of their status; and The Parties accordingly agree that during the Term of this renewal Collective Agreement which shall expire on 31 October 2007, the existing full-time employees on the payroll as of 1 November 2004, shall be deemed to remain full-time employees with all appropriate full-time rights and benefits so long as they continue to meet the criteria in the Collective Agreement that expired 31 May 2003 for full-time status, i.e., so long as he/she continuously works an average of twenty-seven

These positions are not subject to the lay-off provisions found in Article and Article except in the case of a closure of a department or an activity (i.e. laundry). Preschool positions will remain at the level of full-time position equivalents. The total number of full-time employees includes Support Workers and Night Support Workers.
