Daily and Weekly Hours of Work. (a) The following paragraphs and sections are intended to define the normal hours of work and shall not be construed as a guarantee of hours of work per day or per week or of days of work per week.

Daily and Weekly Hours of Work. (i) For employees participating in the extended shift schedule, Article 14.01 Daily and Weekly Hours of Work is amended to read as follows: The average regular work week for full-time employees will be thirty-seven and one-half (37.5) hours averaged over 6 weeks for a total of two- hundred and twenty-five (225) hours. The regular work day will be eleven and one quarter (11.25) hours excluding an unpaid meal period.

Each employee shall be allowed thirty minutes for meals on his own time and such thirty minute period shall normally be a continuous uninterrupted period of time. The Hospital will decide when the meal periods are to be taken by the employees. Employees' work schedules shall be posted two weeks in advance of the schedule becoming effective where practicable. Rest Periods Employees will be entitled to two rest periods of fif- teen minutes duration per shift whereby one will be scheduled each full half scheduled shift. The Hospital will decide when the rest periods are to be taken by the employees. Time Off Between Shifts In the case of departments where employees are required to rotate on the day, evening and/or night shifts, the Hospital will endeavour to arrange shifts such that there will be a mini- mum of twenty-three (23) hours between the beginning of shifts and changeover of shifts and thirty-nine (39) hours if there is one day off and sixty-three hours if there are two days off between the changeover of shifts. Weekends Off In scheduling shifts, the Hospital will endeavour to arrange schedules so as to provide for a minimum of eight weekends off in every twenty-four week period, and, in any event, at least one weekend off in each three week period. Where a weekend off is not granted within a three week period, time worked on such third weekend but not subse- quent weekends shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half unless the Hospital, notwithstanding it...

Daily and Weekly Hours of Work. The regular day shift shall not normally exceed seven and one-half (7 1/2) hours exclusive of meal time for each employee although it is understood that this Article shall not be construed to be a guarantee as to the hours of work per day nor as to the hours of work per shift nor as to the hours of work per week nor as for any period whatsoever nor as a guarantee of working schedules. The normal hours of work presently in effect shall remain in effect for the term of this Agreement. It is understood normal hours include those required to accommodate the change from Daylight Saving Time to Standard Time and vice versa to which the other provisions of the Articles dealing with Hours of Work and overtime do not apply. It is further understood that the amount of regular pay for a full normal shift worked shall not be affected by reason of the change in the number of normal hours worked in consequence of such change from Daylight Saving Time to Standard Time and vice versa.
