Regular Work Week. = Five consecutive days (of seven, seven and one-half or eight hours per day) of work.

Regular Work Week means a regular recurring period of one hundred sixty-eight (168) hours in the form of seven (7) consecutive twenty-four (24) hours. It may begin on any day of the week and at any hour of the day, and need not be the same for all departments and all employees. Once established, an employee's work week may not be changed, except in case of emergencies, unless written notice is given seven (7) days prior to the change or if the employee agrees to shorter notice. However, an employee’s schedule, to include work week or shift, may be changed in order to accommodate another employee’s request for time off due to vacation, personal, sick leave or compensatory time so long as the change does not require the City to incur additional overtime.
