Paid Sick Time. Employees will accumulate sick leave credits at the rate of four (4) hours for every one hundred and seventy-six (176) hours worked to an annual maximum of thirty-six (36) hours. It is understood that these credits will be part of and not in addition to the credits detailed in the current B-3 (d). In an employee’s first twenty-four (24) hours of injury or illness, sick time with pay can be taken only if sick time credits exist in the employee’s sick leave bank. When sick time credit is spent, it must be re-accumulated, but will not exceed thirty-six (36) hours. The maximum numbers of working hours an employee is entitled to receive in sick time per calendar year is thirty- six (36) hours.

Paid Sick Time. For employees hired after January 1, 2018, the amount of paid sick leave has been reduced to a maximum of five paid days per year. These amounts are pro-rated for part-time workers.
Paid Sick Time. After six (6) months of full-time service, full-time employees shall be credited with two (2) sick days with pay and after a full year of full-time service, they shall be credited with an additional two (2) sick days with pay. As of January 1st in any given year, after six (6) months of full-time employment, an employee shall be credited with three (3) sick days with pay and after a full year of full-time service they shall be credited with an additional four (4) sick days with pay. Effective January 1st, 2006, of each year, the full-time employees shall again be credited with eight (8) sick days, with pay. Said sick days shall not be cumulative from year to year. The employee may be able to use these casual paid sick days at any time during the year. Any unused sick days for the twelve (12) months ending December 1st of each year will be paid out to that employee at one hundred percent (100%) of their current wage, in the last pay period previous to December 25th.
Paid Sick Time. A. An employee in the bargaining unit shall be entitled, for each completed eighty (80) hours of service, to sick time of four and six-tenths (4.6) hours with pay. Employees begin accruing sick time from date of hire. No employee shall be permitted to use more sick time than he/she has accrued.
Paid Sick Time. (a) Paid Sick Days are intended to provide pay continuance during times of absence for reasons of legitimate illness or non work-related injury. Employees are eligible for paid sick days after the successful completion of one year of service.

Paid Sick Time. All union employees will be entitled to twenty-four (24) hours of paid sick time per calendar year. If the employee uses the twenty-four (24) hours of sick time prior to the end of the calendar year and they find that they are unable to attend work due to illness, they will fall back to the twenty-four (24) unpaid hour wait time rule that is currently in place. Any portion of the twenty-four (24) hours that is remaining at the end of the calendar year will be paid out at straight pay to the employee on the first pay date in January. An employee must be an Active Employee on December 31 of each year to receive this allotted pay out of unused sick time. This rule ensures that if an employee very rarely calls in sick they will still benefit from this program. If an employee ends the calendar year without using one (1) hour or more of paid sick time, they will be allowed to carry the twenty-four (24) hours to only the next calendar year to use as twenty-four (24) hours of time off with an option to being paid out. The twenty-four (24) hour paid sick straight time pay will be pro-rated for the year of employment.
Paid Sick Time. Employees may be paid for time taken because of their illness. Paid sick time entitlement shall be accumulated at the rate of one and one quarter (1 ¼) days per month. In no event shall paid sick time be used for anything other than legitimate absence because of disability or sickness. If the Assistant Director or Personnel Administrator has reason to believe that an employee is abusing sick time, then the employee may be required to submit medical proof. The Authority shall also have the right to have the employee examined by a physician of its choosing, at its expense, whose determination of sickness or disability shall be final, binding and not subject to the grievance and arbitration procedure of this Agreement. Employees with ten (10) years or more of service will be paid, upon retirement or resignation, for unused sick time earned from the date of hire at the rate of fifteen ($15) dollars per day to a maximum payment of $1,500 provided the employee gives advance written notice at least twenty (20) calendar days prior to the effective date of his/her retirement or resignation. This payment is in addition to any allowed credit provided for unused sick leave in accordance with Section 41‐J of the New York State Employees Retirement System (Article 10.1(1).
Paid Sick Time. Five (5) days paid sick time per year, cumulative over the course of employment.
