Unused Sick Time Clause Samples
Unused Sick Time a. Unused sick leave up to a total of nine hundred (900) hours (120 working days) may be carried forward from one (1) calendar year to the next.
b. Seventy-five (75%) of sick leave hours accumulated over nine hundred (900) hours shall be paid in cash to the employee in the pay period including the calendar year end date (12/31) at the employees’ then current rate of pay.
Unused Sick Time. 1. Unused sick time up to a maximum of ten (10) days will be payable to employees covered by this Agreement on or about January 15 for the preceding contract year. All sick leave in any year shall be initially charged against the unused sick leave for the year in which it is taken and then against any accumulated sick leave for prior years.
2. The employee has the right to elect to continue accumulating sick leave as per Civil Service rules or to take cash payment as provided above. The employee must select one of the two options. In either event, such choice must be made in writing to the department head no later than November 15 of each contract year.
Unused Sick Time. Upon retirement from the Burlington Township School District, the Administrator shall be eligible to redeem unused sick leave at the rate of $50.00 per day with a maximum of 325 days. After the Administrator reaches her 15th year in the district this rate will go to $100 per day with a maximum of 325 days. Any payment made shall not exceed fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000).

Unused Sick Time. Any unused sick time as of January 1, 2001 will be frozen for Dispatchers only. Dispatch employees may use frozen sick time only in cases of a serious injury, illness or accident and may only use such time during the first seven (7) calendar days before the short- term disability policy takes effect. Any time remaining at the time a Dispatch employee terminates his/her employment with the City by way of death, retirement or resignation shall be paid for 50% of any frozen sick time at the hourly rate in effect on September 21, 2000.
Unused Sick Time. Sick days are intended to be used only for personal illness or injury. Therefore, an associate who quits or is discharged for just cause shall not be entitled to pay for an unused or accrued sick days.
Unused Sick Time. 1. Effective January 1, 2011, employees who have less than five (5) years CPL service on their retirement date shall not be entitled to payout for unused sick hours at the time of their retirement.
2. Employees who retire from January 1, 2011 through June 30, 2011 will, at the time of retirement, be paid for forty percent (40%) of unused sick hours up to nine hundred (900) hours in cash at his/her current salary rate. In addition, for each full year of service exceeding thirty two (32) years, the employee will be paid an additional thirty seven and one half (37.5) hours, until the remaining unused sick leave is exhausted. No more than a total of nine hundred (900) hours of unused sick time will be eligible for payout.
3. Employees who retire on or after July 1, 2011 will, at the time of retirement, be paid for forty percent (40%) of unused sick hours up to nine-hundred (900) hours in cash at their current salary rate. No more than a total of nine hundred (900) hours of unused sick time will be eligible for payout.
Unused Sick Time. 14.1 Employees who retire and collect a Public Employee Retirement System pension and who have worked at the Library for 15 years or more shall receive compensation for unused sick pay at the rate of twenty dollars ($20.00) per day with the maximum amount payable of fifteen hundred dollars ($1500).
A. Retiring professional employees are required to give the library forty-five (45) days written notice of retirement. Retiring non-professionals are required to give the library thirty (30) days written notice of retirement. Failure to give the required notice of intention to retire may be cause for forfeiture of the compensation for unused sick leave, exceptions may be granted.
Unused Sick Time. Effective June 30, 2001, unit members who retire per the rules o f the New York State Employee Retirement System will be paid for unused sick time per the following guidelines:
a) In order to be eligible for the unused sick leave payment, members must have completed 15 years of service and have accumulated at least 100 sick days and not fall below that total.
