Retention Stipend. On June 1, 2021 (the “Retention Date”) Superintendent will be eligible to receive a retention stipend in the gross amount of Five Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($5,000.00), less applicable withholdings (the “Retention Stipend”). In order to earn the Retention Stipend, Superintendent must remain actively employed in good standing, as determined by the Board in its sole discretion, as Superintendent of Schools for the District through the Retention Date. Additionally, if Superintendent has tendered his resignation effective June 30, 2021, or if the Board notified Superintendent prior to June 1, 2021 that it would not be extending this Agreement for the Extended Term as defined below, Superintendent would not be eligible for the Retention Stipend. If earned, the Retention Stipend shall be paid, less applicable withholdings, to Superintendent on the District’s next regular pay date following the Retention Date.”

Retention Stipend a. Full time Teachers (Bargaining Unit) hired prior to Friday, September 29, 2023, that are employed on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, will receive a stipend of $1,000 to be paid on or after Friday, February 23, 2024.
Retention Stipend. In recognition of commitment to education through the year, the Kent School District and Kent Association of Paraeducators agree to the provision of a retention stipend for the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 school years. Retention Stipend. All unit members with a 12-month contract will receive a $1500 stipend and unit members with a 10-month contract will receive a $1000 stipend. The stipend will be paid in two payments with the first being on the second pay date in May 2021 and the last being on the second pay date in June 2021. To be eligible to receive the stipend, the employee must be an active employee as of April 1, 2021, and must maintain active status through June 7, 2021. An active employee is defined as employees currently working regular hours and employees on Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA). Employees on any unpaid leave of absence are not included.

Retention Stipend a teacher who was employed during the 2021-2022 school year and who is still employed on November 30, 2022 will receive a $750 stipend in their December paycheck. Should grant funding similar to (HB 4030) become available the parties agree to reopen bargaining to discuss a retention stipend for bargaining unit members to be applied during the second year of the contract. Effective July 1, 2012 a STEP 14 and STEP 15 will be added to the CEA Salary Schedule and Index, applied to the last two columns, with the same % increase as the first 13 steps on the Salary Schedule and Index. A member currently on STEP 13 in the 7th or 8th column will be allowed to move to STEP 14 for the 2012 – 13 school year and to STEP 15 the following year.
