RECOGNIZED HOLIDAYS AND VACATIONS. 6.01 The following shall be General Holidays under this Agreement: • New Year's Day • Thanksgiving DayFamily DayLabour DayGood FridayRemembrance DayVictoria DayChristmas DayCanada DayBoxing Day • First Monday in August No work shall be performed on Labour Day except in special cases of emergency. For the purposes of this section, a "regular work day" is a day for which straight time rates would apply and an "overtime day" is a day for which overtime rates would apply to all hours worked. If any of the above holidays fall on an overtime day, the following regular work day shall be observed as the holiday. Double time will be paid for work performed on a General Holiday if there is no day observed in lieu. If there is a day observed in lieu, double time shall be paid for work performed on that day and the General Holiday will be paid at the applicable rate ofpay as if it were not a General Holiday. It is agreed that in the event any other day is declared a General Holiday by a Government [Federal or Province Alberta] which has jurisdiction to declare a General Holiday applicable to the work to which the registration certificate applies, then that day shall be recognized as a General Holiday in addition to those listed above.

Wages shall be paid weekly or by cash of cheque on the job at the option of the Employer and shall be accompanied by a slip outlining all hours of work, the hourly rate, overtime hours, deductions for income tax, insurance, pension, etc., where applicable. In the event that wages are paid by cheque, pay day shall be not later than Thursday of the following week, It is further agreed that an employee'spay slip will show the number of hours worked in each week. Payment for correction of errors in wage exceeding one hundred dollars ($1 00.00) shall be made by separate cheque. In the case of lay-off, all employees will receive one (1) hour's notice in advance of the lay-off or pay in lieu of notice. Whenever unemployment insurance forms, vacation and statutory holiday pay credits and pay cheques are not given to employees at the time of termination, they shall be sent by the Ernployer affected to the employee by registered mail to his last known address within two (2) working days of the time of termination provided that if the Employer defaults, the employees shall be paid waiting time at straight time rates not to exceed eight (8) hours any day for each regular working day he is required to wait giving notice to the Employer giving him four (4)hours to correct such default. When an employee quits, he shall provide the Employer with three (3) days notice. On doing so, he shall be paid all his wages and given possession of all his documents upon termination where practical. In such cases employees shall be given one (1) weeks notice of the change. Vacation pay shall include an amount in lieu of payment for holidays. Accrued vacation and holiday pay shall be recorded on pay stubs and shall be paid to each employee covered by this Agreement in accordance with a Local Union Schedule, or every three months and on termination, to be paid no later than the first pay day of January, April, July and October.   • HOLIDAYS AND VACATIONS If work is performed on Buyer's premises, Buyer shall not be obligated to make any payments to Seller for days designated by Buyer as holidays or shutdown periods, except for work specifically authorized in writing by Xxxxx's Authorized Procurement Representative and performed by Seller on such days.

  • Vacation; Holidays The Executive shall be entitled to all public holidays observed by the Company and vacation days in accordance with the applicable vacation policies for senior executives of the Company, which shall be taken at a reasonable time or times.

  • Paid Holidays – Long Weekends (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday.

  • Religious Holidays When a religious holiday, not observed as a holiday, as provided in Section 2 above, falls on a supervisor's regularly scheduled work day, the supervisor shall be entitled to that day off to observe the religious holiday. Time to observe religious holidays shall be taken without pay except where the supervisor has sufficient accumulated vacation leave or accumulated compensatory time, or, by mutual consent, is able to make the time up. Supervisors shall notify the Appointing Authority at least twenty-eight (28) calendar days prior to the leave.

  • PLANT HOLIDAYS 6.01 All employees covered by this Agreement will receive eight (8) hours pay at their regular straight time rates for each of the following Plant Holidays (regardless of the day on which the holiday falls) in addition to any wages which they may be in receipt of for work performed on such holidays:
