Labour Day. All employees covered by this Agreement shall be entitled to be paid a full day's wage for Labour Day (the first Monday in May or other day appointed under the Holidays Act 1983, to be kept in place of that holiday) irrespective of the fact that no work may be performed on such day, and if any employee concerned actually works on Labour Day, such employee shall be paid a full day's wage for that day and in addition a payment for the time actually worked at one and a-half times the ordinary rate prescribed for such work with a minimum of 4 hours.

However, should an employee work on that day, in addition to a full day's wage, the employee shall be paid for all time worked at the rate of time and a- half, with a minimum of 4 hours, except in the case of night duty where the work commenced on Labour Day continues after midnight.

Labour Day. 30.2 Nothing prevents an Employee from initially declining or volunteering to work on Closed Port Days, provided that Employees rostered to work on Closed Port Days, will be required to work where insufficient Employees, with the necessary skills as required to meet customer requirements, volunteer to work the day.

Labour Day. All Members may, at their discretion, receive pay at straight time for any or all Recognized Holidays. Each member must notify the Chief of Police in writing of his intention, by January 1st of that year, if the member wishes to receive pay in lieu of time off.
