Victoria Day Christmas Day Canada Day Boxing Day Civic Holiday When the holiday occurs on an employee’s scheduled day off, he shall be paid for the holiday and he shall be permitted to take a day off from his scheduled work week in lieu of the holiday, at a time that is satisfactory to the employee and his supervisor. Employees who have accumulated a minimum of work- ing days’ seniority, will be granted (3) floating holidays per year in addition to the above holidays. Request for floaters are to be submitted in writing three (3) working days in advance of the floater with the exception of emergency situa- tions. Management will within twenty-four hours of receiving the request. floaters not taken prior to November 1st in each year will be scheduled. An employee who by reason of lay-off not exceeding working days, is prevented from taking an earned floating holiday, shall be paid for the holiday if it can- not be otherwise scheduled during the calendar year. When the above Holidays occur on a Saturday or Sunday, the observance of the Holidays be on the following Monday, unless changed by mutual agreement. When July falls on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Canada Day will be observed on the following Friday. An employee who has established seniority in accordance with Article and who works any of the available work days within the thirty (30) day period prior to the Holidays, and who works the last scheduled shift prior to the Holiday and the first scheduled shift following the Holiday, unless his return to work is prevented by circumstancesbeyond his con- trol, shall receive pay for the Holiday. Holidays occurring during the course of an allowed vacation period shall not be included as part of that allowance.

In addition, there shall be two (2) floating holidays per year which will be designated by mutual agreement between the Employer and the employees for all employees who have completed their probationary period.
