POSTING AND VACANCIES. A. If any bargaining unit member is promoted, retires, resigns, is terminated or transferred, and the Superintendent has determined to continue with the position and has not filled the position with a current bargaining unit member, the position will be considered vacant. The creation of any new positions in the bargaining unit and recurring or ongoing bargaining unit work outside of the workday will also be offered as a vacancy in accordance with this Article.

POSTING AND VACANCIES. A position vacancy is defined as one in which a position has been vacated by a registered nurse who is not returning to said position. A temporary or substitute vacancy is defined as one in which a substitute registered nurse replaces an incumbent registered nurse who is returning to his/her position.

POSTING AND VACANCIES. (a) In the event that the Company should establish a new job classification or has a requirement for an additional Employee within a job classification covered by this Agreement, the Company shall post up a notice to this effect for a period of five (5) working days. The notice will specify the nature of the job, the job classification and level, the shift or shifts that it will likely be worked, the job classification rate and a brief description of the qualifications required. If there are Employees on the layoff list notice shall be given to such Employees by registered mail to the last known address of the Employee or at such address as the Employee may in writing advise the Company . The Employee must respond to such notice within five (5) working days of mailing it or lose the right to be considered for such vacancy . Notwithstanding the above, if an Employee is transferred to prevent layoff due to the elimination of the Employee’s existing classification or modification of the requirements of an existing classification so the Employee can no longer carry out the work in that classification under the terms of section 14 .02 (b) such vacancies shall not be required to be posted . If such vacancy still exists sixty (60) working days after the date of the posting the job will be re-posted. In filling such job posting in a new job classification or within a job classification covered by this Agreement, current qualified Employees will be given priority over outside Applicants . If any Employee applies in writing within five (5) working days to be considered for such posted vacancy, the Company will give consideration to such application, provided such Employee has not received a transfer as a result of a posting for a minimum time of one year from the date of the posting resulting in the transfer to the date of the current posting . Any such Employee who is selected to fill such a vacancy shall be granted a training period of up to sixty (60) working days .

  • Posting and Filling Vacancies 12.01 For the purposes of this section “working days" means consecutive days, exclusive of Saturdays, Sundays or holidays observed by the Company.

  • Posting and Filling of Vacancies 8.1(1) When a permanent vacancy occurs within a classification covered by this agreement, which the Employer intends to fill, after the Employer applies the internal job transfer bidding procedure and the ultimate vacancy is thereby identified, such vacancy shall be advertised for ten (10) calendar days provided that nothing herein shall prevent the Employer from advertising such vacancy throughout its system or outside during the ten (10) day period. Probationary employees may, at the sole discretion of the Employer, be considered for another position outside their classification after the signing date of this agreement. The Corporation reserves the sole and absolute right to carry out any applicable interviewing or testing that is necessary in its opinion. All test processes will be approved by qualified Human Resources staff. An employee will only be allowed to take one test failure for each different job classification bid every four (4) months. Current employees applying for positions which involve increased driving responsibilities must meet corporate driving standards and provide with application a current driving abstract. The opinion of the Employer shall not be exercised in an arbitrary or discriminatory manner.

  • PROMOTIONS AND VACANCIES 3.1 The Employer will determine when a position will be filled, the type of appointment to be used when filling the position, and the skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the specific position within a job classification that is being filled. Only those candidates who have the position-specific skills and abilities required to perform the duties of the vacant position will be referred for further consideration by the employing agency.

  • Posting Vacancies 1. Vacancies that occur in certified positions shall be posted online for not less than five (5) working days prior to their being filled or advertised outside the district. The five- (5) day posting requirement may be suspended by the Administration on June 1 each year. The five-day posting requirement shall resume on the first day of October.

  • Transfers and Vacancies In the event an employee does not bid, but is selected to be transferred, he may accept or reject the transfer. If he accepts, his seniority is treated in the same manner as though he had bid. If he rejects the transfer, he shall not be restricted from future bids under similar conditions. In the event that an employee is moved to another Department by reason of a departmental merger or consolidation of work, this shall not be considered a transfer, and the seniority rights of the individual involved shall then be determined by negotiation between the Company and the Local Union.

  • JOB VACANCIES Vacancies or new positions shall be awarded to the senior employee applicant where the employee currently possesses the necessary capabilities to perform the work. Qualifications for the job shall be posted by the Employer, and the posting shall include the shift and number of hours for the position. No employee shall be eligible to bid on a job vacancy or new position until the employee has worked in the employee's existing job for a minimum of one hundred eighty (180) days. The provisions of the preceding sentence shall not apply when employees bid on vacancies or new positions in the employee's same classification. All vacancies shall be bulletined for a minimum of five (5) calendar days, and notice of the same furnished to the Union at the same time. Each Hospital shall develop a system to ensure that only applicants signing the posting during the five calendar day posting period will be considered. Temporary assignments may be made during such posting period only; provided assignments to a new classification may be on a temporary basis for ten (10) days. If a question arises as to the capability of an employee to perform the employee's duties after the above herein procedure has been used, that question, and any other question incidental thereto pertaining to the employee's classification and rate of pay, shall be settled by mutual agreement between the Employer and the Union. If such questions cannot be so settled, they shall be settled by arbitration as provided in Article 2. In filling vacancies or new positions, senior employees in the classification where the vacancy or new position is located shall be given preference. In the event that the vacant or new position cannot be filled with a qualified employee from that classification then qualified applicants from other classifications within the bargaining unit will be considered based on bargaining unit seniority.

  • Posting of Vacancies At the point the Department proceeds to fill a vacant position by open competition, lateral transfer or promotion, such information will be publicized within the Department for a minimum of five (5) working days.

  • VACANCIES AND NEW POSITIONS 17.01 The Gallery shall post notice of permanent and temporary job vacancies subject to Article 4 – Temporary Full-Time Employees for a period of seven (7) calendar days before any such job is filled. Probationary employees shall not be entitled to apply for posted vacancies. It is agreed that the Gallery will not interview external applicants until applications from existing employees have been reviewed and bargaining unit employees who are qualified in the opinion of the Gallery have been interviewed.
