Posting of Vacancies. Whenever a vacancy occurs which the Employer determines to fill, the Employer shall post notice of the opening on the official Human Resources Department web page at xxxxx://xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.xxx.xxx, for a period of not less than seven (7) calendar days. The posting shall carry the position classification, title, number, the hourly rate of pay, minimum acceptable qualifications, and shift hours. The work schedule and work location shall be included. A posted vacancy may be canceled during the posting period but may only be canceled after the posting period for lack of funds. Upon request, the Employer shall furnish the Local Union with documentation of the lack of funds. A temporary appointment shall not be made solely for the purpose of avoiding layoff rights for that employee or denying bidding rights to other employees.
Posting of Vacancies. DH will determine and post bargaining unit job openings, which may include vacated or newly-created positions, for a period of at least seven (7) calendar days prior to filling the vacant position. Postings may be limited to the unit/department in which the opening exists if the manager knows of qualified and interested staff within the unit/department. If two or more qualified applicants apply for a vacant position and are considered to be substantially equal in skills, competence and abilities for the open position, in the sole judgment of DH, applicants within the department/unit will be given preference, followed by applicants within Deaconess Hospital, followed by applicants within other local affiliated medical facilities (e.g., Valley Hospital, Rockwood Clinic, etc.) before external applicants. If two or more qualified applicants within the unit/department apply for a vacant position, and are considered substantially equal in skills, competence, and abilities for the open position, within the sole judgment of DH, unit/department seniority shall be the tie-breaker. If two or more qualified applicants within any of the other groupings apply for a vacant position, and are considered substantially equal in skills, competence and abilities for the open position, within the sole judgment of DH, DH seniority shall be the tie-breaker. Posting of Vacancies. 29.01 In accordance with Appendix B, the Employer will post on Intranet all notices for vacant positions of nine (9) months or more to be filled within the bargaining unit. Such notices shall give employees a period of ten (10) working days for submitting an application. Upon the candidate’s request, the Employer will acknowledge receipt of every application and will inform the employee of the probable date of selection. If no selection has been made by the date mentioned, the Employer will inform the employee of the change in the probable date of selection.
