Medical Direction. Oversight Contractor shall engage by contract a Medical Director who shall be a physician licensed to practice in the State of Nebraska, and is Board certified in emergency medicine or experienced in the practice of emergency medicine, to provide the overall medical direction and control necessary for all out-of-hospital emergency medical services, including but not limited to emergency ambulance service, special event standby ambulance service, routine ambulance service, but shall not include air medical services and shall not apply to hospital employees performing out-of-hospital emergency medical care in their capacity as hospital employee, within the out-of-hospital emergency medical care system as required by the Emergency Medical Services Act (Neb. Rev. Stat. §71-5172, et. seq. (Xxxxxxx 2003)), and related statutes. The contract with the Medical Director will provide that such Director may not terminate or suspend his or her employment without 60 days notice to the Oversight Contractor. The Medical Director shall, jointly with the Lancaster County Medical Society, promulgate Medical Care Protocols/Medical Treatment Guidelines to be followed by out-of-hospital emergency medical care personnel in the Lincoln emergency medical care system and to enforce such protocols/medical treatment guidelines. However, the Medical Director shall retain ultimate authority and responsibility for monitoring and supervision, for establishing protocols/medical treatment guidelines, for standing orders, and for the overall supervision of the medical aspects of the emergency medical service. For purposes of this Agreement, Medical Care Protocols/Medical Treatment Guidelines shall include those protocols/medical treatment guidelines that govern the provision of out-of-hospital emergency medical care by a provider to a patient, and shall include the adopting of pre-arrival instructions and response modes under the priority dispatch system currently used by the City in the dispatch of out-of-hospital emergency medical care providers. Such authority to promulgate protocols/medical treatment guidelines relating to dispatch must be exercised in a manner consistent with licenses and agreements as may exist between the City and the provider of any such priority dispatch system and may not cause the City to breach or act inconsistently with any labor contract governing emergency dispatchers (currently the Lincoln City Employees Association). Medical Direction. MU School of Medicine shall provide the services of Dr. Xxxxxxx Xxxxxx, Jr. (“Medical Director”), a duly licensed physician board certified or board eligible in emergency medicine (or equivalent experience as set forth in applicable Missouri Laws and regulations) who will be responsible for medical oversight in: • development and authorization of clinical dispatch, patient care, and transport protocols • advisory and approval role in the clinical credentialing of providers and shall have the authority to restrict, suspend or terminate the patient care activities of a provider • advisory and approval role in training and education standards • advisory and approval role in Clinical Performance Standards and Quality Improvement Program. • advisory and approval role in clinical Performance Improvement initiatives • advisory and approval role in EMS system design, staffing, and special operations • advisory and approval role in dispatch, triage, disaster care and mutual aid agreements • advisory and approval role in medical error investigation and review
Medical Direction. A Health Care Provider who is assigned by their agency to perform duties pursuant to this Agreement shall provide services according to the Provider’s medical orders.
Medical Direction. The County shall provide on-line medical direction and medical oversight for municipal employees active in the provision of paramedic services. The Medical Director for the County has complete discretion regarding the acceptance of any individual, whose practice falls under the Medical Director’s license, including the ability to withhold, suspend or completely terminate an individual’s involvement in the Milwaukee County EMS System. The Municipality shall recognize the authority of the EMS medical director on issues related to patient care and privileges of medical control for all Paramedic and/or Paramedic First Response Units or individuals operating under the medical director's license.
Medical Direction. Customer acknowledges that it must obtain a prescription for the AED Device(s) and the AED Device(s) must be subject to medical oversight. Customer acknowledges that Cintasis not a health-care provider and does not issue the prescription, provide medical oversight, or provide other related health-care or medical services. Rather, by signing this Agreement, Customer receives access toathird-party, at no additional cost to Customer, whowillprovide a prescription forthe AED Device(s), providemedical oversight, register the AED Device(s) with local EMS (together,“Medical Direction”), and provide Customer access to the third-party’s on-line software portal. As a condition to being granted Medical Direction and access to third-party’s software portal, Customer acknowledges it will be required to agree to the terms and conditions applicable to those services, which will be provided at the initial log in to the software portal. Failure to do so: (a) will relieve any third-party providingthe services from any liability for AED management and, compliance notwithstanding, any fees paid by Customer under this Agreement, and (b) will result in Customer assuming full responsibility and any associated liabilities for failing to acknowledge the terms and conditions.
Medical Direction. Contractor will pay the City the amount set forth in Exhibit C attached for the provision of EMS 911 system medical direction in the form of a part-time EMS 911 System Medical Director position. The Contractor will be responsible for paying the City on time for each payment on a quarterly basis in April, July, October and January (see Exhibit C) of each year of the contract term. It is the responsibility of the Contractor to begin payments, April 1, 2014. A late payment charge of five (5) percent of any unpaid balance will be assessed for each 30-day period or part thereof, in which a payment is past due.

  • Medical Director The Contractor shall employ the services of a Medical Director who is a licensed Indiana Health Care Provider (IHCP) provider board certified in family medicine or internal medicine. If the Medical Director is not board certified in family medicine, they shall be supported by a clinical team with experience in pediatrics, behavioral health, adult medicine and obstetrics/gynecology. The Medical Director shall be dedicated full-time to the Contractor’s Indiana Medicaid product lines. The Medical Director shall oversee the development and implementation of the Contractor’s disease management, case management and care management programs; oversee the development of the Contractor’s clinical practice guidelines; review any potential quality of care problems; oversee the Contractor’s clinical management program and programs that address special needs populations; oversee health screenings; serve as the Contractor’s medical professional interface with the Contractor’s primary medical providers (PMPs) and specialty providers; and direct the Quality Management and Utilization Management programs, including, but not limited to, monitoring, corrective actions and other quality management, utilization management or program integrity activities. The Medical Director, in close coordination with other key staff, is responsible for ensuring that the medical management and quality management components of the Contractor’s operations are in compliance with the terms of the Contract. The Medical Director shall work closely with the Pharmacy Director to ensure compliance with pharmacy-related responsibilities set forth in Section 3.4. The Medical Director shall attend all OMPP quality meetings, including the Quality Strategy Committee meetings. If the Medical Director is unable to attend an OMPP quality meeting, the Medical Director shall designate a representative to take his or her place. Notwithstanding the Medical Director ‘s sending of a representative, the Medical Director shall be responsible for knowing and taking appropriate action on all agenda and action items from all OMPP quality meetings.

  • Medical Devices This Article applies when the Goods and/or Services involve UC purchasing or leasing one or more medical devices from Supplier, or when Supplier uses one or more medical devices in providing Goods and/or Services to UC. Medical Device as used herein will have the meaning provided by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) and means an instrument, apparatus, implement, machine, contrivance, implant, in vitro reagent, or other similar or related article, including a component part, or accessory which is: (i) recognized in the official National Formulary, or the United States Pharmacopoeia, or any supplement to them; (ii) intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions, or in the cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease, in man or other animals, or (iii) intended to affect the structure or any function of the body of man or other animals, and which does not achieve any of its primary intended purposes through chemical action within or on the body of man or other animals and which is not dependent upon being metabolized for the achievement of any of its primary intended purposes. Supplier warrants that prior to UC’s purchase or lease of any Medical Device or Supplier’s use of any Medical Device in providing Goods and/or Services hereunder, Supplier will: (i) perform security testing and validation for each such Goods and/or Services or Medical Device, as applicable; (ii) perform a security scan by an anti-virus scanner, with up-to-date signatures, on any software embedded within any Goods and/or Services or Medical Device, as applicable, in order to verify that the software does not contain any known viruses or malware; (iii) conduct a vulnerability scan encompassing all ports and fuzz testing; and (iv) provide UC with reports for (i) – (iii). Supplier warrants that all security testing performed by Supplier covers all issues noted in the “SANS WE TOP 25” and/or “OWASP Top 10” documentation. Throughout Supplier’s performance of this Agreement, Supplier will provide UC with reasonably up-to-date patches, firmware and security updates for any Medical Device provided to UC, and any other Medical Device used in the course of providing Services, as applicable. All such patches and other security updates will be made available to UC within thirty (30) days of its commercial release or as otherwise recommended by Supplier or Supplier’s sub-supplier, whichever is earlier. Supplier warrants that all software and installation media not specifically required for any Medical Device used by Supplier or Goods and/or Services delivered to UC under this Agreement as well as files, scripts, messaging services and data will be removed from all such Goods and/or Services or Medical Device following installation, and that all hardware ports and drives not required for use or operation of such Goods and/or Services or Medical Device will be disabled at time of installation. In addition, Medical Devices must be configured so that only Supplier-approved applications will run on such Medical Devices. Supplier agrees that UC may take any and all actions that it, in its sole discretion, deems necessary to address, mitigate and/or rectify any real or potential security threat, and that no such action, to the extent such action does not compromise device certification, will impact, limit, reduce or negate Supplier’s warranties or any of Supplier’s other obligations hereunder. Supplier warrants that any Medical Device provided to UC, and any other Medical Device used in the course of providing such Goods and/or Services, meet and comply with all cyber-security guidance and similar standards promulgated by the FDA and any other applicable regulatory body. If the Goods and/or Services entail provision or use of a Medical Device, Supplier will provide UC with a completed Manufacturer Disclosure Statement for Medical Device Security (MDS2) form for each such Medical Device before UC is obligated to purchase or lease such Medical Device or prior to Supplier’s use of such device in its performance of Services. If Supplier provides an MDS2 form to UC concurrently with its provision of Goods and/or Services, UC will have a reasonable period of time to review such MDS2 form, and if the MDS2 form is unacceptable to UC, then UC in its sole discretion may return the Goods or terminate the Agreement with no further obligation to Supplier.

  • Professional Development and Training 4.1 The purpose of professional development and training requirements for interpreters is to maintain the skill levels interpreters possess at the time they pass their interpreter certification examination, and to further enhance their skills and knowledge. Both the State and the Union encourage interpreters to complete training and continuing education activities.

  • Medical Verification The Town may require medical verification of an employee’s absence if the Town perceives the employee is abusing sick leave or has used an excessive amount of sick leave. The Town may require medical verification of an employee’s absence to verify that the employee is able to return to work with or without restrictions.
