STATUTORY HOLIDAYS a) All hourly-rated employees who work on New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Dominion Day, British Columbia Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Remembrance Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day shall be paid rate and one-half for all hours so worked.
b) In the event one of the Statutory Holiday falls on a Sunday, the previous Friday or the following Monday shall be observed as the Holiday. In the event that one of the within named Statutory Holidays fall on Saturday, it shall be observed the preceding Friday or succeeding Monday as agreed between the Company and the Plant Committee.
c) In the event of a Statutory Holiday falling on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, and where the Company and Plant Committee mutually agree, the said holiday may be observed the preceding Monday or following Friday respectively.
d) At the option of the Company, but whenever possible, by mutual agreement with the Plant Committee, either Good Friday or Easter Monday shall become the designated Easter Holiday, and the Company shall notify its employees of the designation at least one (1) week prior to the said Holiday.
e) When a Statutory Holiday falls on a Friday, employees working on a Tuesday to Saturday work week, by mutual agreement between the Company and the Plant Committee may work on the Friday Statutory Holiday at the straight time job rates and substitute Saturday as the Statutory Holiday.
f) In the case of a maintenance employee where one of the Statutory Holidays is observed on his/her rest day, he/she shall have a day off without pay in lieu thereof at a mutually agreeable time.
g) Not withstanding the above, in logging, a Statutory Holiday may be observed on another mutually agreed upon day in a week other than the week in which it occurs. An employee who qualifies for such Statutory Holiday on the day it occurs, and works on that day, will be paid for the Statutory Holiday at straight time rates.
a) All hourly-rated and piece work employees who qualify for the paid holiday under the conditions set out below shall be paid for the holiday at their regular job rate of pay for their regular rate work schedule. STATUTORY HOLIDAYS. (a) The following days shall be considered holidays for which full time employees shall receive eight (8) hours' pay for each statutory holiday as listed below, at their regular hourly rate of pay. (b) Employees working on Remembrance Day will be paid in accordance with the Remembrance Day Act or as amended by the Provincial Government.
29.02 All part-time employees shall receive general holiday pay in an amount equal to one-fifth (1/5) of the average weekly hours that were paid to the employee during the four (4) complete calendar weeks immediately prior to the week in which the general holiday occurs.
29.03 In order for an employee to qualify for a statutory holiday they must not have been voluntarily absent from their scheduled workday the day prior to and/or following such holiday. Vacation, leave of absence authorized by the Company and sick leave shall not disqualify an employee from receiving their general holidays as noted above.
29.04 If a statutory holiday occurs during an employee's vacation or scheduled day off, they shall have the opportunity to take an extra day's vacation with pay or an extra day's pay. In the event the employee chooses to take an extra day off with pay, the day off selected shall be subject to Company approval.
29.05 In the event that a security guard works in a location where a statutory holiday occurs which is not recognized in this agreement, and the client closes its business for that day, and the security guard, had that not been the case, would have normally worked on that day, said security guard shall be offered work in another location for the equivalent time that the employee would have worked if such work is available.
29.06 An employee who is required to and does work on a statutory holiday shall be paid at one and one-half (1½) times their rate of pay (plus one and one-half (1½) times the overtime rate if applicable) for all hours worked on a statutory holiday and in addition, shall be paid their regular pay for the statutory holiday if they fall in accordance with the requirements specified in 29.03 above.
29.07 Senior full-time employees will be given an opportunity not to be scheduled to work both Christmas and New Year’s Day, except in the event that there are no employees available or overtime or training costs ...

STATUTORY HOLIDAYS. (a) The following eleven (11) calendar dates shall be recognized as paid (7.5 hours) holidays for full time employees:
1. New Year's Day 7. Labour Day
2. Good Friday 8. Thanksgiving Day

(b) In addition to the above holidays, any additional holidays declared by the Federal or Provincial governments.
(c) The parties recognize the significance of Xxxxx Day and an Employee who requests the day of June 11th off in accordance with Article 9.05(b), the Employer will schedule the Employee accordingly. Xxxxx Day is not a recognized paid holiday and premium pay for that day will not apply.
10.02 Compensation for statutory holidays will be the Employee’s regular classification rate except where the Employee has been temporarily assigned to a classification paying a higher rate whereby they would receive the higher classification rate.
(a) If an employee works a shift on the calendar date of a holiday listed in Article 10.01, the employee will be compensated at the rate of one and one-half (1.5x) times the employee’s regular hourly rate for the hours worked. The method of compensation shall be pay or time off to be determined by the Employee.
(b) In addition to the compensation for the hours worked on the holiday the Regular Full-Time employee shall have the option to have seven and one half (7.5) hours as pay or time off as mutually agreed between the Employer and the employee.
(c) In lieu of the holidays listed in Article 10.01 above, Regular Part-Time employees shall be entitled to one (1) hour of holiday compensation for each 23.5 regular hours paid. The method of compensation shall be pay or time off as determined by mutual agreement.
(d) Where time off is to be scheduled it shall occur at a time mutually agreed between the Employer and the employee.
10.04 When a holiday designated in Article 10.01 occurs on a day scheduled as a day off for a full time Employee, the employee may receive pay for the holiday when mutually agreed between the Employer and the Employee or shall be scheduled for an alternate day off with pay in lieu of the holiday at a time mutually agreed.

9.02 If a Holiday or Holidays fall(s) within an employee’s vacation period, he will be entitled to pay for the same and shall be entitled to an additional day of vacation prior to or immediately following his vacation period, or a mutually agreed upon time.
9.03 In the event a Statutory (General) Holiday is proclaimed by the Federal or Provincial Government, such holiday shall also be observed, if not already listed in the above holidays.
9.04 Any employee requested to work on a Holiday shall be paid at time and a half (1.5) the basic hourly rate applicable to the classification to which he is assigned to work on such Holiday, over and above his regular Holiday pay.
9.05 When a holiday falls on an employee’s schedule day off, the employee shall be entitled to another day off with pay to be taken at a time convenient to both the employee and the Company within a 30 day period following the statutory holiday.
9.06 a) Employees assigned the five (5) day work week will be paid eight (8) hours’ pay at the appropriate hourly rate for the Paid Holiday which falls on the employee’s regular work week. If a Holiday falls on a five (5) day employee’s scheduled day off, he shall be paid eight (8) hours’ pay at his hourly rate for the Holiday and his work week shall remain unchanged for such week.
