STATUTORY HOLIDAYS. All hours remaining in an Employee's statutory holiday bank during the last pay period in December of each calendar year shall be paid out by the Employer to the Employee in order to reduce the Employee's statutory holiday bank to zero (0). The Alliance and the Employer agree that if an Employee retires, resigns, or is terminated after the first day of January in any calendar year, then the Employee's statutory holiday bank shall be pro-rated to reflect the statutory holiday hours actually earned by the Employee, and any credit or debit shall be reflected on the Employee's last pay cheque.

STATUTORY HOLIDAYS. STATUTORY HOLIDAYS. STATUTORY HOLIDAYS. An Employee The University recognizes the following as paid holidays: New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Remembrance Day, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and the first Monday in August. Effective June an additional floating holiday will be allowed. Where an associate works on a statutory holiday with the exception of New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Christmas Day, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day and Boxing Day shall be credited with paid wages at regular rate for each hour works and shall also be paid statutory holiday pay without having to take a lieu day. Where an associate works on New Day, Good Friday, Christmas Day, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day and Boxing Day, shall be paid wages at one and one half times her regular statutory holiday pay without having to take a lieu day. In order to qualify for payment on a statutory holiday as provided for in the eligible associate must work last scheduled shift prior to and first scheduled shift following the holiday. An otherwise eligible associate who is scheduled to work on one of the designated holidays but does not report for work as scheduled shall forfeit holiday pay for particular day. In the event that one or more of the aforementioned statutory holidays occurs during the eligible associate’s vacation, shall be paid for the statutory holiday in addition to vacation pay. For the purpose of this Schedule “active” means when applied to an associate who is not absent from work for any reason during the period immediately prior to or immediately following the statutory holiday other than an associate who is on vacation or on a scheduled day off. SCHEDULE “E” BEREAVEMENT LEAVE When either the current spouse, parent, child, grandchild, brother, sister, mother-in- law or father-in-law of a full-time associate dies, that associate on request will be excused for a period not to exceed three (3) consecutive days (or such fewer days as the associate may be absent) between the date of death and the date of the funeral. In addition, an eligible associate shall be entitled up to two (2) days off to attend the funeral of the associate’s grandparent. In any event, the eligible associate shall not be entitled to receive any pay hereunder for any day upon which would not otherwise have been scheduled to work for the Company. Payment will be based on the associate’s straight-time hourly rate exclusive of premiums. HEALTH AND WELFARE The Company shall contribute to the Union’s Health and Welfare Plan a sum equal to one-hundred and thirty dollars ($130.00) per month for each full-time associate who is on the payroll for services rendered during any regular payroll period provided that such associate has been employed a minimum of twenty-four (24) regular hours per week and has been in the employ of the Company for a period of sixty (60) calendar days. As of June of this Agreement the Company shall increase its contribution to one hundred and four thirty-five dollars (104$135. 00) hours in lieu per month. As of June of this agreement the Company shall increase its contribution to one hundred and forty dollars ($140.00) per month. The aforementioned monthly payment shall be remitted to the Fund within ten (10) days after the end of the thirteen (13) statutory holidays whether they work an eight (8) hour shift or a ten hour shiftmonth for which it is paid. Until so remitted such funds shall be treated as trust funds in the hands of the Company on and after the end of the month for which such payments is to be made. STATUTORY HOLIDAYS. STATUTORY HOLIDAYS. STATUTORY HOLIDAYS. Employees absent from work, who otherwise would be required to work on the work day immediately preceding or immediately following the holiday, shall not be entitled to the following thirteen (13) statutory holidays each year: New Year's Day Good Friday Easter Monday Victoria Day Canada Day Civic Holiday Labour Day Thanksgiving Day Remembrance Day Christmas Day Boxing Day National Aboriginal Day Family Day Each Employee pay for such holiday unless absent because of sickness. STATUTORY HOLIDAYS. In recognition that statutory holidays may be scheduled work days for shift workers, employees will be scheduled off for up to eleven (11) days in lieu of statutory holidays. These days off in lieu of statutory holidays shall normally be scheduled in the pay period in which the statutory holiday falls and, subject to departmental requirements, in conjunction with scheduled days off in that pay period. Department Managers, at their discretion, may permit the banking of some or all of such statutory holidays which will be taken off at a time mutually agreed upon by the employee and Supervisor.
