STATUTORY HOLIDAYS. The Alliance and the Employer agree that if an Employee retires, resigns, or is terminated after the first day of January in any calendar year, then the Employee's statutory holiday bank shall be pro-rated to reflect the statutory holiday hours actually earned by the Employee, and any credit or debit shall be reflected on the Employee's last pay cheque.

STATUTORY HOLIDAYS. STATUTORY HOLIDAYS. Work performed by probationary employees other than during a probationary employee’s regular shift or working hours on a Statutory Holiday will be paid at the rate triple time the regular straight time rate provided regular shift schedule hours have been worked. any of the said holidays fall during the employee’s vacation, they shall receive one (I) extra day or days full pay in order addition to reduce their regular vacation. Shift employees who are on their day(s) off on a Statutory Holiday and are requested to reflect work, will receive eight hours at one and one half times their regular rate. Then according to normal overtime rates as contemplated in Article The Company agrees that although the statutory holiday hours actually earned by manufacture of cement requires that operations be continuous, it will reduce operating personnel to a minimum, which in the Employee, and any credit or debit shall be reflected opinion of the Management is required to maintain operating continuity on the Employee's last pay chequeabove holidays. In order to operate the Blooming Mill normally on the first shift after a holiday during which the Open Hearth has been shut down, it is desirable to tap heats in the Open Hearth as early as possible. Ar- rangements regarding this phase of operations shall be credited with con- ducted as they have been during the past contract, namely, by voluntary agreement between the Superintendent and the Department Union Committee. In respect to the above-mentioned eight holidays, the following conditions shall apply: Any employee who is required to work and does not shall not be paid anything. If such employee works on: Canada Day, or Labour Day, or Christmas Day, any such time worked shall be paid at one and one-half times his regular pay for the shift. The hourly rate of pay shall be the hourly earning rate for the job performed, and if it is a job which carries incentive bonus or piece work rate the hourly earning rate shall be that which was established on the im- mediately preceding normal working day. If an employee works beyond eight hours on any of the named holidays, he shall be paid at the rate of time and half for all hours worked, and in addition shall receive holi- day bonus pay as set forth in based on the number of overtime hours worked. If such an employee works on: New Year’s Day, or Good Friday, or Victoria Day, or Thanksgiving Day, or Remembrance Day, any such time worked shall be classed as straight time. The hourly rate of pay shall be the hourly earning rate for the job occupied, and if the job carries an incentive or piece work rate, the rate of pay will be based on the actual production of that day. If an employee works beyond eight hours on any of the above-mentioned holidays, he shall be paid at straight time rates, and in addition shall receive holiday bonus pay as set forth in based on the number of overtime hours worked. In the interpretation of pay under paragraphs and above, shift premiums shall be paid only for the hours actually worked. Any employee not qualifying for the holiday allowance as provided for in this Section, and who works on any such holiday, shall be paid one and one-half times his regular rate of pay. Only the actual time worked by employees on such holidays shall be reckoned in the Employer computation of overtime time worked in excess of a standard work week. Hours worked in excess of eight hours on any such holidays and for which overtime rates or straight time plus a bonus shift has been paid, shall not be used in the calculation of weekly overtime. Any employee prevented from working his last scheduled shift prior to or from working his first scheduled shift after such holiday on account of a death in his immediate family, or on account of a lost-time compensable or non-compensable plant accident, or time lost by an elected representative of municipal government required to attend an official civic function, or while serving on jury duty, or for leave from work for Union business (same to be evidenced by a letter from the Union Secretary to the Employee in order Superintendent of Industrial Rela- tions attesting to reduce the Employee's statutory holiday bank to zero (0same). The Alliance and the Employer agree that if an Employee retires, resigns, or receives written permission to be absent, or to leave early, from his xxxxxxx, or if his absence is terminated due to illness, accident or disability of an occupational nature or of a nonoccupational nature for which benefits are payable (or would be payable if the employee were eligible) under the welfare plan currently in effect, shall count his last schedul- ed shift prior to or after the first such holiday as those days he should have worked, as determined by his Department Superintendent. Should an employee be called out on a Statutory Holi- day of January in any calendar yearfor a job or to replace an employee who has already started on a regular shift, then the Employee's statutory holiday bank he shall be pro-rated to reflect paid in the statutory holiday following manner: The employee shall be paid for the hours actually earned by worked at time and one-half, or for eight hours, whichever is the Employee, and any credit or debit greater. Such pay shall be reflected on in addition to whatever allowance the Employee's last employee is entitled to under the provisions of Article 9 cover- ing pay chequefor Statutory Holidays.

STATUTORY HOLIDAYS. All hours remaining in holidays falls during an Employee's statutory holiday bank during approved vacation period, the last pay period in December of each calendar year shall Employee will be paid out by the Employer to the Employee in order to reduce the Employee's statutory holiday bank to zero (0). The Alliance and the Employer agree that if an Employee retires, resigns, or is terminated after the first day of January in any calendar year, then the Employee's statutory holiday bank shall be pro-rated to reflect the statutory holiday hours actually earned by the Employee, and any credit or debit shall be reflected pay on the pay cheque for that pay period. Should the Employee subsequently wish to take an unpaid day off in lieu of this statutory holiday for which she/he has already been paid, she/he may do so at a mutually agreeable time to Employer and Employee's last pay cheque.

STATUTORY HOLIDAYS. An Employee shall be entitled to Paid Holidays The Hospital will recognize the following thirteen twelve (1312) statutory holidays each yeardays as holidays: New Year's Day Labour Day Good Friday Thanksgiving Day Easter Monday Christmas Day Victoria Day Boxing Day Canada Day August Civic Holiday Labour Day Thanksgiving Day Remembrance Day Christmas Third Monday in February (Heritage Day Boxing Day National Aboriginal Day Family Day Each Employee if so proclaimed) Should the Hospital be required to observe an additional paid holiday as a result of legislation, it is understood that one of the existing holidays recognized by the Hospital shall be credited established as the legislated holiday after discussion with one hundred the Union, so that the Hospital's obligation to provide the number of paid holidays as noted above remains unchanged. The Alliance and the Employer agree that if an Employee retires, resignsvacation or scheduled day off, or is terminated after otherwise entitled to a lieu day, the first day of January in any calendar year, then the Employee's statutory holiday bank employee shall be pro-rated granted a lieu day off with pay at a time mutually agreed upon between the employee and the Hospital. Payment for Working Overtime on a Holiday Where an employee is required to reflect the statutory holiday work authorized overtime in excess of regularly scheduled straight time hours actually earned by the Employeeon a paid holiday, and any credit or debit such employee shall be reflected on the Employee's last pay chequereceive twice regular straight time hourly rate for such authorized overtime.

STATUTORY HOLIDAYS. In addition to the above Statutory Holidays, and after one year of employment, all employees shall be credited with one hundred and four (104) hours in lieu of the thirteen (13) statutory holidays whether they work an eight (8) hour shift or a ten hour shift. Such hours shall be credited entitled to a statutory holiday bank in the name of each Employee on the of January in each calendar year. Other accumulated hours may be taken on request An employee, who leaves the employment of the Employee Company for any reason, shall have floaters pro rated and at paid based on the discretion employee's entitlement. The scheduling of the Inspectortime off must be mutually agreeable. In addition to the four (4) floating holidays that each employee is entitled, having due regard for the known or anticipated workload and before any vacation entitlement is used. If a Member is scheduled to work both Christmas and New Year's Eve, he or is terminated after the first day of January in any calendar year, then the Employee's statutory holiday bank she shall be pro-rated entitled to reflect exchange one of their regular days off for one of those days. Provisions for Termination of an EstablishedJob Sharing Arrangement Members or their Supervisors may make application for termination of an established job sharing arrangement to the Job Sharing Committee at least days prior to the anticipated termination date. The party making an application for termination shall provide their notice of intent to terminate to all parties. The Job Sharing Committee will review an application for termination and make a recommendation to the Chief of Police. Approval of such application will be considered only in the name presence of each Employee on extenuating circumstances, and taking into account the operational requirements of January in each calendar yearthe Service. STATUTORY HOLIDAYS. Student employees engaged for a position shall have pay for statutory holidays included in their salaries. Students engaged for an hourly-waged position who are employed in a week where a statutory holiday occurs will receive 1/20 of their regular wages in the four weeks before a public holiday as public holiday pay, no matter what their days of work. The calculation includes all wages and vacation pay, but not overtime. When any of the above holidays fall on a Saturday or Sunday and is not declared as being observed on some other day, the following Monday (or Tuesday, where the Monday is declared a holiday) shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement. ARTICLE VACATION PAY Employees shall receive of their gross earnings monthly as vacation pay. ARTICLE LEAVE OF ABSENCE Grievance and arbitration: representatives of the Union and those required by the University to be present who work on an assigned schedule shall not suffer any loss of pay or benefits for time involved in grievance and arbitration procedures, when it is clearly unavoidable to use assigned working time. A student employee on an assigned work schedule may be granted by the Xxxx or equivalent, upon application, leave of absence with pay for up to three working days for compassionate reasons in the event of the critical illness or death of a spouse, parent, child, brother, sister, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, or other person who would ordinarily be considered a member of the employee’s immediate family. In the case of a medical emergency of a member of the immediate family, and where no other member of the family can attend to the situation, a student academic employee shall be entitled to appropriate leave with pay and benefits, to look after the following thirteen (13) statutory holidays each year: New Year's Day Good Friday Easter Monday Victoria Day Canada Day Civic Holiday Labour Day Thanksgiving Day Remembrance Day Christmas Day Boxing Day National Aboriginal Day Family Day Each Employee immediate crisis. An employee absent on maternity leave shall be credited with one hundred and four (104) hours in lieu entitled to maintenance of pay for up to fifteen weeks following a two week waiting period or until the end of the thirteen (13) statutory holidays whether they work an eight (8) hour shift or a ten hour shiftcurrent semester whichever is less. Drivers who work in July and August shall be paid for Civic Holiday provided that they work their last scheduled work day prior to reduce the Employee's statutory holiday bank to zero (0). The Alliance Civic Holiday and the Employer agree that if an Employee retires, resigns, or is terminated their first scheduled work day after the first holiday. An employee who is required to work on a holiday for which he/she is qualified for holiday pay in accordance with Article will be granted one day off in lieu thereof with pay at his hourly rate for the number of January in any calendar yearhours constituting his regular assignment, then at a mutually agreed time. So far as practicable, such day off will be consecutive with a regular day off or with his vacation period. School bus employees who operate a school bus shall receive the Employeeequivalent pay of their school run for that day, this will include kindergarten runs and late runs, providing the employee performs them regularly. If one of those paid holidays falls on an employee's statutory assigned day off, the following working day will be considered a paid holiday bank shall be pro-rated to reflect at the statutory holiday hours actually earned by the Employee, and any credit or debit shall be reflected on the Employee's last rate of pay chequementioned above.

In order to qualify for payment on a statutory holiday as provided for in the eligible associate must work last scheduled shift prior to and first scheduled shift following the holiday. An otherwise eligible associate who is scheduled to work on one of the designated holidays but does not report for work as scheduled shall forfeit holiday pay for particular day. In the event that one or more of the aforementioned statutory holidays occurs during the eligible associate’s vacation, shall be paid for the statutory holiday in addition to vacation pay. For the purpose of this Schedule “active” means when applied to an associate who is not absent from work for any reason during the period immediately prior to or immediately following the statutory holiday other than an associate who is on vacation or on a scheduled day off. SCHEDULE “E” BEREAVEMENT LEAVE When either the current spouse, parent, child, grandchild, brother, sister, mother-in- law or father-in-law of a full-time associate dies, that associate on request will be excused for a period not to exceed three (3) consecutive days (or such fewer days as the associate may be absent) between the date of death and the date of the funeral. In addition, an eligible associate shall be entitled up to two (2) days off to attend the funeral of the associate’s grandparent. In any event, the eligible associate shall not be entitled to receive any pay hereunder for any day upon which would not otherwise have been scheduled to work for the Company. Payment will be based on the associate’s straight-time hourly rate exclusive of premiums. HEALTH AND WELFARE The Company shall contribute to the Union’s Health and Welfare Plan a sum equal to one-hundred and thirty dollars ($130.00) per month for each full-time associate who is on the payroll for services rendered during any regular payroll period provided that such associate has been employed a minimum of twenty-four (24) regular hours per week and has been in the employ of the Company for a period of sixty (60) calendar days. As of June of this Agreement the Company shall increase its contribution to one hundred and four thirty-five dollars (104$135. 00) hours in lieu per month. As of June of this agreement the Company shall increase its contribution to one hundred and forty dollars ($140.00) per month. The aforementioned monthly payment shall be remitted to the Fund within ten (10) days after the end of the thirteen (13) statutory holidays whether they work an eight (8) hour shift or a ten hour shiftmonth for which it is paid. Until so remitted such funds shall be treated as trust funds in the hands of the Company on and after the end of the month for which such payments is to be made. Such hours shall be credited to a statutory holiday bank in the name of each Employee on the of January in each calendar year. If an Employee works a scheduled shift on a statutory holiday, will be credited with an additional four (4) hours to statutory holiday bank for working an eight (8) hour shift, five (5) hours if they work a ten 0) hour shift. Three (3) eight (8) hour periods will be used for the Year schedule. Other accumulated hours may be taken on request of the Employee and at the discretion of the Inspector, having due regard for the known or anticipated workload and before any vacation entitlement is used. Three (3) eight (8) hour periods will be used for the Year schedule. Other accumulated hours may be taken on request of the Employee and at the discretion of their supervisor, having due regard for the known or anticipated workload and before any vacation entitlement is used. Employees normally working in an administrative position, resulting in their absence on a day that a statutory holiday falls, will be deemed to have taken the holiday and statutory holiday bank will be reduced by an amount equal to the hours normally worked in a shift, and no further compensation will be granted. All hours remaining in an Employee's statutory holiday bank during the last pay period in December of each calendar year contributions shall be paid out by monthly and shall be used solely for the Employer purpose of providing Health and Welfare, death and other benefits as may available to the Employee in order to reduce the Employee's statutory holiday bank to zero (0)eligible Union associate. The Alliance and Company agrees that the Employer agree that if an Employee retires, resigns, or is terminated after following sick provisions shall remain in effect for the first day life of January in any calendar year, then the Employee's statutory holiday bank shall be pro-rated to reflect the statutory holiday hours actually earned by the Employee, and any credit or debit shall be reflected on the Employee's last pay chequeAgreement.

STATUTORY HOLIDAYS. An Employee 13.01 The following days shall be entitled to the following thirteen (13) statutory holidays each yearobserved as holidays: New Year's ’s Day January 2nd Family Day Good Friday Easter Monday Victoria Day Canada Day Civic Holiday Labour Day Truth and Reconciliation Day Thanksgiving Day Remembrance Day Christmas Day Boxing Day National Aboriginal Day Family Day Each All holidays will be recognized as eight (8) hours. In the event that any holiday is an unworked day, the Employee shall receive holiday pay. Employees on a ten (10) hour work schedule will receive ten (10) hours holiday pay for their normally scheduled work day. If an Employee is working a ten (10) hour shift pattern and the holiday falls on a day off, holiday pay will be ten (10) hours for a total of fifty (50) hours pay in the work week. Should the Provincial or Federal Government declare, by Statute, an additional public holiday during the term of this Agreement, it shall be granted. Should an Employee scheduled to work on any of the above mentioned holidays or on their scheduled regular day of work preceding or following the holiday, be absent without permission on any of these days, such Employee shall forfeit their regular holiday pay. Should it become necessary to work on any of the stated holidays, such Employee shall be credited paid at the rate of time and one-half (1½) in addition to the regular holiday pay of eight (8) straight time hours or ten (10) straight time hours based on the scheduled work pattern, or they may elect to take the following alternative. On eight (8) hour shifts worked during a statutory holiday, work in excess of eight (8) hours will be paid at double time. On a ten (10) hour shift worked during a statutory holiday, work in excess of ten (10) hours will be paid at double (2) time. Alternative: (Eight (8) hours shift pattern and ten (10) hour shift pattern Should it become necessary to work on any of the stated holidays, such Employees shall be paid time and one-half (1½) for each holiday worked, and also will receive a day off later with one hundred regular pay. The Employee shall notify their Supervisor of their selection of the date for a day or days to be taken later, at least two (2) weeks before the day or days selected and the Supervisor shall endeavor to schedule such day or days off. No more than a total of five (5) days off (four (1044) hours in lieu days for a ten (10) hour shift pattern) shall ordinarily be accumulated at any time by an Employee unless they have accumulated five (5) days (four (4) days for a ten (10) hour shift pattern) and requested such leave and the Company has been unable to fulfill their request. Should they have accumulated five (5) days under the foregoing conditions and work another day, they shall be paid for it. An Employee having accumulated five (5) days (four (4) days for a ten (10) hour shift pattern) may request to take their five (5) days (four (4) days) consecutively by providing at least two (2) weeks advance notice to the Supervisor and the Supervisor will endeavor to schedule such days off where possible. However, such leave must not displace the previously scheduled vacation periods of the thirteen (13) statutory holidays whether they work other Employees. Should an Employee working an eight (8) hour shift have a stated holiday fall on their day off or a ten hour shift. Such hours during their vacation, they shall be credited to a statutory holiday bank in the name of each Employee on the of January in each calendar year. If an Employee works a scheduled shift on a statutory holiday, will be credited with an additional four (4) hours to statutory holiday bank paid for working an eight (8) hour shift, five straight time hours or at their option take a day off later with regular pay. It shall be ten (510) hours if they should an Employee’s regular shift be ten (10) hours in length. Overtime hours worked and payment for stated holidays shall not be used to offset any Employee’s work a ten 0) hour shiftweek. Three (3) eight (8) hour periods All written request forms will be used for the Year schedule. Other accumulated hours may be taken on request of the Employee and at the discretion of the Inspector, having due regard for the known or anticipated workload and before any vacation entitlement is used. Such hours shall be credited to a statutory holiday bank proclaimed by a Municipality, only those stores of the Employer in that Municipality shall be affected by the name requirements of each Employee on the of January in each calendar yearthis Article. If an Employee works a scheduled shift employee is eligible for statutory holiday pay while on a Weekly Income Benefits, Workers' Compensation or sick leave, it is understood and agreed that the maximum amount of pay that he or she will receive from such sources for any particular day shall not be more than 100% of his or her normal daily pay. Commencing with their fifth (5th) week of employment, employees shall receive the following statutory holiday, will be credited with an additional holiday pay: Average hours worked in four (4) weeks preceding week in which holiday occurs: 16 but less than 20 - 4 hours' pay for each holiday 20 but less than 32 - 6 hours' pay for each holiday 32 or more hours to - 8 hours' pay for each holiday For purposes of determining statutory holiday bank pay entitlement for working an eight full-time employees, all paid time off and hours absent due to sickness or accident not exceeding thirty-nine (8) hour shift39) consecutive weeks calculated from the 1st day of such continuous illness or accident shall be counted as hours worked, five if the full-time employee would have been scheduled to work such hours they were absent. In this case, the "four (4) weeks" shall be the last four (4) weeks excluding such absences. All work performed on a statutory holiday bank shall be propaid for at the rate of time and one-rated to reflect half the employee's regular rate of pay, and where so entitled, the employee shall also receive pay for the statutory holiday. Hours of work on a statutory holiday shall first be offered to laid-off employees and part-time employees, on a seniority basis, provided the employee's total hours actually earned by the Employee, and any credit or debit shall be reflected on the Employee's last of pay chequefor that basic work week will not exceed forty (40) hours.

STATUTORY HOLIDAYS. Statutory Holiday pay shall be credited with one hundred and four (104) calculated at the regular hourly rate for the number of hours regularly. assigned in lieu of the thirteen (13) statutory holidays whether they work an eight (8) hour shift or a ten hour shift. Such hours shall be credited to a statutory holiday bank in the name of each Employee on the of January in each calendar yearnormal working day. In order to retain continuity of service, it is understood that the Company may declare an additional four (4) hours alternative day as being the Statutory Holiday to statutory holiday bank for working an eight (8) hour shift, five (5) hours if they work a ten 0) hour shift. Three (3) eight (8) hour periods will be used for the Year schedule. STATUTORY HOLIDAYS. An Employee Each employee who has completed his proba- tionary period and who is not required to work on any of the following days shall receive payment at his base rate for the regularly scheduled hours of work on which the holiday is celebrated provided that the employee works the regular day before the holiday and the regular day after the holiday unless authorized by the Company, in writing, to be absent on either or both such days: New Year’s Day Thanksgiving Day Good Friday Day before Christmas Victoria Day Christmas Day Canada Day Boxing Day Civic Holiday Floater (the date to be discussed) Labour Day Floater (the date to be discussed) If an employee is requested by the Company to work on any of the foregoing holidays, he will be paid at time and one half for the time worked plus the statu- tory holiday pay. The parties to this Agreement may mutually agree to change the day of celebration of any holiday which does not fall on either a Monday or a Friday. If such a change is mutually agreed to, payment required under and will be applicable only to the day actually celebrated by the Company. If a statutory holi- day should on a Saturday or Sunday, it shall be entitled paid for unless the Plant should close on another day in lieu of that statutory holiday. If a statutory holiday should fall during the week any employee is on their vacation, additional pay, but not additional time off, will be grant- ed on the basis of above. However, when requested by an employee, the Company agrees to give the lieu day off with pay where the holiday falls while the employee is on vacation provided the day granted is at a time con- venient to the following Company. Statutory holidays which arise during a period of sickness shall be paid limited to a period of thirteen (13) statutory holidays each year: New Year's Day Good Friday Easter Monday Victoria Day Canada Day Civic Holiday Labour Day Thanksgiving Day Remembrance Day Christmas Day Boxing Day National Aboriginal Day Family Day Each Employee shall be credited with one hundred weeks, subject to conditions and four upon written proof to the Company by a Doctor’s Certificate. ARTICLE DIFFERENTIALS The Company will pay sixty (10460) cents per hour for all hours worked after ARTICLE -WAGE SCHEDULE Appended hereto and forming part of this Agreement is Appendix Wage Schedule which outlines the classifications of work and hourly rates in lieu effect as of the thirteen (13) statutory holidays whether they work an eight (8) hour shift date of signing this Agreement. If, during the life of this Agreement, any new occupational classifications are established or current occupational classifications are revised by the Company, the Union will be advised of such occupational classifi- cations and the rates of pay prior to implementation. Once the Union has been advised, the classifications and the rates will form part of Appendix for the duration of the Agreement. The Union may file a ten hour shift. Such hours shall be credited to a statutory holiday bank grievance under the provisions of Article VI in the name event that the Union does not agree with the rate of each Employee on the of January in each calendar year. If an Employee works a scheduled shift on a statutory holiday, will be credited with an additional four (4) hours to statutory holiday bank for working an eight (8) hour shift, five (5) hours if they work a ten 0) hour shift. Three (3) eight (8) hour periods will be used for the Year schedule. Other accumulated hours may be taken on request of the Employee and at the discretion of the Inspector, having due regard for the known or anticipated workload and before any vacation entitlement is used. Three (3) eight (8) hour periods will be used for the Year schedule. Other accumulated hours may be taken on request of the Employee and at the discretion of their supervisor, having due regard for the known or anticipated workload and before any vacation entitlement is used. All hours remaining in an Employee's statutory holiday bank during the last pay period in December of each calendar year shall be paid out established by the Employer to Company. Nothing stated herein shall prevent the Employee in order to reduce Company from hiring at a rate higher than the Employee's statutory holiday bank to zero (0). The Alliance and estab- lished starting rate because of skill, etc., nor shall it restrict the Employer agree that if upgrading of an Employee retires, resigns, or is terminated after the first day of January employee in any calendar year, then the Employee's statutory holiday bank shall be pro-rated to reflect the statutory holiday hours actually earned by the Employee, way. In the event that a probationary employee does not com- plete his probationary period, an adjustment equivalent to the holiday pay received from the date of employment to the date of termination of employment, shall be credited with one hundred and four (104) hours in lieu of deducted from any monies owed to him by the thirteen (13) statutory holidays whether they work an eight (8) hour shift or a ten hour shiftHospital. The Hospital shall advise each employee five (5) weeks in advance of whether has Christmas or New Year’s off. This provision shall not apply to any area where employees normally work a ten 0) hour shiftMonday to Friday and are not normally scheduled to work on paid holidays. Three (3) eight (8) hour periods Other scheduling objectives may be waived between December 15th to January 15th. ARTICLE VACATION Except under unusual circumstances, employees will be used for the Year schedulepermitted to take vacation in unbroken periods of up to four (4) weeks. Other accumulated hours The Hospital will endeavour to provide longer periods of unbroken vacations where feasible after taking account of staffing requirements. Vacations may be taken on request at any time during the cal- endar year in which they are earned (except during the Christmas and New Year period) subject to the approval of the Employee Department Manager or his designate, and at to any other relevant provisions of this agreement. For purposes of establishing priority for vacations, bargaining unit seniority within the discretion department shall gov- ern for requests received up to April. Thereafter, the or- der of receipt of requests shall govern. All requests for va- cation must be forwarded to the Inspector, having due regard for the known Supervisor or anticipated workload Department Manager in writing and before any vacation entitlement is useddated. Three (3) eight (8) hour periods Vacation will be used for the Year schedule. Other accumulated hours may be taken on request of the Employee and at the discretion of their supervisor, having due regard for the known or anticipated workload and before any vacation entitlement is used. Employees normally working in an administrative position, resulting in their absence on a day that a statutory holiday falls, will be deemed to have taken the holiday and statutory holiday bank will be reduced by an amount equal scheduled according to the hours normally worked in a shift, and no further compensation will be granted. All hours remaining in an Employee's statutory holiday bank during the last pay period in December of each calendar year shall be paid out by the Employer to the Employee in order to reduce the Employee's statutory holiday bank to zero (0). STATUTORY HOLIDAYS. An Employee The Company agrees to pay all employees for each of the following public holidays: Christmas Day Canada Day Boxing Day Civic Holiday New Year’s Day Labour Day Alberta Family Day Thanksgiving Day Good Friday Remembrance Day Victoria Day If any of these holidays fall on a Sunday, the Monday following shall be observed and where Monday is also a holiday, the Tuesday will be observed in lieu of Monday. Public holiday pay shall be calculated on the basis of eight (8) hours at the employee’s regular rate. To be eligible for public holiday pay, such employee must have worked a minimum of thirty (30) days during the three hundred sixty-five (365) calendar days immediately preceding each such public holiday and provided he/she reports for work and works as required the work day immediately preceding and immediately following the holiday. Employees absent from work, who otherwise would be required to work on the work day immediately preceding or immediately following the holiday, shall not be entitled to the following thirteen (13) statutory holidays each year: New Year's Day Good Friday Easter Monday Victoria Day Canada Day Civic Holiday Labour Day Thanksgiving Day Remembrance Day Christmas Day Boxing Day National Aboriginal Day Family Day Each Employee pay for such holiday unless absent because of sickness. A doctor’s note will be required. Employees shall be credited with paid at one hundred and one half (1 1/2 X) times their regular rate for all work performed on paid public holidays in addition to any holiday pay set out above. Hours paid as public holiday pay in respect to public holidays not worked shall be considered as hours worked for the purpose of computing overtime. The Company agrees to recognize and pay for any future public holidays that may be proclaimed in to law for the Province of Alberta. The calendar day of observance of a public holiday for employees working twelve (12) hour shifts will be from 12:00 a.m. on the calendar day of the public holiday and for twenty-four (10424) hours in lieu of the thirteen (13) statutory holidays whether they work an eight (8) hour shift or a ten hour shift. Such hours shall be credited to a statutory holiday bank in the name of each Employee on the of January in each calendar yearday. An Employee 11.01 All Employees who have completed sixty (60) working days or more continuous service with the Employer, subject to the provisions of this Article, shall be entitled paid in the amount equivalent to one (1) day's pay at his/her regular straight time rate for the following thirteen (13) statutory holidays each yearholidays: New Year's Day Labour Day Good Friday Easter Monday Thanksgiving Day Victoria Day Christmas Day Canada Day Boxing Day Civic Holiday Labour Day Thanksgiving Day Remembrance Day Three (3) floating holidays (One of the floating days replaces Family Day) Last half shift on the last working day prior to Christmas Day Boxing Last half shift before New Year's Day National Aboriginal Day Family Day Each (replaces Remembrance Day) To be entitled to the floating holidays, an Employee shall must have nine (9) months of continuous service with the Employer. The floating holidays are to be credited with one hundred taken at a time mutually agreed between the Employer and four the employee, and must be taken during the calendar year in which they occur, that is between January 1st and December 31st each year (104no carryover). Other accumulated hours may be taken on request Where one of the Employee and at the discretion of the Inspector, having due regard for the known or anticipated workload and before any vacation entitlement is used. Employees normally working in an administrative position, resulting in their absence on a day that a aforementioned statutory holiday falls, will be deemed to have taken the holiday and statutory holiday bank will be reduced by an amount equal to the hours normally worked in a shift, and no further compensation will be granted. All hours remaining in holidays falls during an Employee's statutory holiday bank during approved vacation period, the last pay period in December of each calendar year shall Employee will be paid out by the Employer to the Employee in order to reduce the Employee's statutory holiday bank to zero (0). The Alliance and the Employer agree that if an Employee retires, resigns, or is terminated after the first day of January in any calendar year, then the Employee's statutory holiday bank shall be pro-rated to reflect the statutory holiday hours actually earned by the Employee, and any credit or debit shall be reflected pay on the pay cheque for that pay period. Should the Employee subsequently wish to take an unpaid day off in lieu of this statutory holiday for which she/he has already been paid, she/he may do so at a mutually agreeable time to Employer and Employee's last pay cheque.

STATUTORY HOLIDAYS. Remembrance Day will be allowed as a floating holiday, and will be available to full time staff only. Holidays declared by the Ministry of January in each calendar year. If an Employee works a scheduled shift Labour that fall on a statutory holidaySaturday or Sunday, will be credited with an additional observed on Monday or Friday. One Day Leave of Absence, to be paid out of sick pay, will be granted to male employees on the birth of a son or daughter. Arenas and Parks employees, if they so choose, to receive a day off in lieu, to be mutually agreed upon between the employee and their Supervisor, when a holiday granted under this Article falls during the employee's shift. In such case, the premium pay for working on the holiday will not apply. The Employer agrees to pay statutory holiday pay equal to the hours of work then in effect as set out in Clause above at the then current basic rate of the employee concerned without requiring such employee to work on the holiday hereinbefore mentioned whether or not such holiday falls on a standard work shift day. Employees working for a period of not less than five (5) consecutive working days (or four (4) hours to statutory consecutive working days where the holiday bank falls on a Friday) at a higher rated position immediately before a holiday shall be paid at the higher rate for working an eight (8) hour shift, five (5) hours if they work a ten 0) hour shiftthe holiday. Three (3) eight (8) hour periods ARTICLE S LEAVE Employees will be used granted one and one half days per month sick leave accumulation to be unlimited. Employees claiming sick leave are required to report to the authorized personnel whose names are posted in the appropriate department not later than fifteen (15) minutes prior to their starting time in order to receive payment for that day; provided that an employee reporting sick and indicating extended time off will be required, shall not continue to report until the Year scheduleemployee is prepared to return to work. The Employer reserves the right to request the employee to submit to a examination of their choosing, provided that in the event of a difference of Medical opinion, a third (3rd) Doctor agreeable to both parties shall act as Umpire of the Employee problem, and at the discretion third (3rd) Doctor's opinion shall be binding on the parties of this Agreement. Students and temporary employees working under this Agreement will be required to supply a Certificate for all absenteeism to claim sick pay under this Agreement. Where the requirement for a Certificate to support a claim for sick leave payment has been by a letter to the employee, such Certificate must be presented to the Employer by the employee no later than the date the employee returns to work. Failure to comply with the above will cause the employee to be ineligible for payment. Where the employee was unable to secure the certificate prior to their return to work solely due to the Doctor not providing same in time or the Doctor not being available the employee will be excused from the above requirement. Employees who have had ten separate occurrences of absence due to sickness in a calendar year will be subject to a three day waiting period during subsequent absences due to illness in the calendar year, before benefits are payable. Immediately after the close of each calendar year, each employee shall be advised of the Inspectoramount of sick leave accrued to their credit. If an employee is absent from work due to illness or for any reason other than Workers' Compensation, having due regard for more than four (4) consecutive months, said employee shall not accumulate sick days until the known or anticipated workload and before any vacation entitlement is usedemployee returns to work on a regular basis. This benefit shall not apply to any employee, former employee or the Employee in order to reduce the Employee's statutory holiday bank to zero estate of an employee with less than five (0).
