OVERTIME CONDITIONS. (i) Overtime shall be defined as all work done beyond the ordinary hours of work.
OVERTIME CONDITIONS. Except in the case of Engineers and Ambulance any hours worked in excess of seven and one-half hours in the day or in excess of hours in a two week pay period, exclusive of meal time and authorized by a senior Departmental Head will be counted as overtime worked and will be paid for at the rate of time and one-half; computed at the regular straight time hourly rate for the job classification. It is understood that the Employer will not regularly schedule an employee to work more than and one-half (37 hours per week except in cases of emergency. It is understood and agreed that where Engineers and Ambulance are required to work eight hours in a day they will be paid for such time at their regular straight time hourly rate of pay. With this understanding, it is agreed that any hours worked by Engineers and Ambulance in excess of eight hours in the day or in excess of eighty hours in a two week pay period exclusive of meal time, and authorized by x senior Departmental Head, will be counted as overtime worked and will be paid for at the rate of time and one-half their regular straight time hourly rate of pay. ARTICLE SHIFT PREMIUM: An employee will be paid a shift premium of forty-five cents per hour for each hour worked when the majority of such hours so worked, falls between and hours the following day.
