Emergency Closing of School. 1. Those Food Service Employees who are scheduled to report to work at 6:30 a.m. or earlier may not be able to hear the radio broadcast concerning the closing of school in case of emergency. If they report to work on such a day, they will be paid for three (3) hours time.
Emergency Closing of School. 1. In the event of closing of school due to Acts of God or any other emergency on any day when an employee is scheduled to work, the employee shall suffer no loss in pay for such day nor shall they be required to make up the lost time.

If the superintendent feels weather conditions are sufficiently severe, an announcement will be made on the air that employees are not to report for work. In this case, all employees will be paid their regu- lar daily rate of pay when not reporting. Those employees working on snow days, while other shifts are off, shall be entitled to a day off at a later date at a time to be mutually selected by both parties.

On the first and second day of such closing, all custodial employees will receive the day’s pay at the regular hourly rate. Those custodial employees who do report and work will, in addition, receive compensatory time, equivalent to the hours worked, to be used within twelve (12) months of the time being credited. Insofar as possible, assignment will be scheduled on a rotational basis. On Snow Days, custodians who are needed for snow removal will be notified no later than 8:30 a.m. and shall report to work by 9:30 a.m. to receive compensatory time for any hours worked. Should schools be closed on immediately succeeding days, the administration shall determine whether weather conditions are sufficiently inclement to justify additional compensatory vacation days for regular performance of duty. Section 9 Ten ($.10) cents per hour shall be added to the hourly rate of any employee, covered by this Agreement, who shall successfully complete a program or course of study leading to a certificate or license in a field directly connected to his employment. Fifteen ($.15) cents shall be added to the hourly rate of employees who have achieved a boiler operator's license. The hourly rate increase for licensing may be deferred until the amount equals any District advanced tuition payment. Prior approval for such program or course of study must be obtained from the Superintendent or his/her designee.
Emergency Closing of School. In the event that school must remain closed because of inclement weather or because of an emergency situation at the school, the school will contact all homes by telephone via the SwiftK12 Notification System. A form to be completed for this purpose will be provided to all new families upon their arrival to the district. Every effort will be made to contact families well in advance of the time when the children would normally leave for school. School closings will also be posted on the district website.
