SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED. Receives direction from the Director of Safety and Security/Chief of Police or the Assistant Director of Safety and Security/Deputy Chief of Police. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Patrol assigned area on foot or in a vehicle; issue verbal or written citations for violations observed; enforce parking and related traffic ordinances. Patrol buildings, classrooms and restrooms; secure doors, turn out lights and check windows; frequently monitor high security areas; check electrical panels, monitors storage areas; guard against theft and vandalism. Check mechanical equipment including alarm systems and report operating failures. Keep daily activity log; fill out appropriate forms and reports; alert fellow officers of unusual or suspicious occurrences. Provide security to all persons during a power failure, earthquake, fire, bomb threat or other mishaps; direct building evacuations; provide crowd control; assist persons stuck in elevators. Assist the public by providing directions and responding to questions and inquiries; direct traffic at peak traffic times; provide vehicle jump-starts and openings. Pick up and return lost and found items; search for lost adults or children. Collect parking lot meter money and deliver to the business office. Intervene and mediate in disturbances and disputes. Perform related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED. Employees in this classification receive general supervision from a Police Sergeant or his/her designee within a framework of established policies and standard operating procedures. Employees in this classification may provide technical and/or functional supervision when functioning in a special duty/assignment capacity. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: • Patrols designated areas of the City on foot and in patrol car on an assigned shift to conduct a variety of responsible law enforcement and crime prevention duties; • Responds to routine or emergency calls for assistance; controls traffic; observes all suspicious activities/persons; and reports to superiors periodically. • Provides proactive crime prevention and community outreach; acts as a resource to City's citizens and the general public; provides training and education to community regarding police activities and crime prevention techniques; making presentations and serving on committees as assigned. • Conducts criminal investigations from initiation to the completion of investigation; prepares preliminary reports of incidents and investigations to include documentation; contacts and interviews victims, witnesses, and suspects for details; secures statements; preserves evidence; follows-up on every facet of assigned investigation to ensure all activities and efforts are coordinated and successfully completed. • Makes arrests and issues citations for violations of pertinent laws and ordinances within standard and accepted laws, policies, and operational regulations. • Books, transports, and is charged with responsibility for the appropriate care and safety of detained persons. • Performs a variety of duties, functions and activities as a participant in a special duty assignment such as DARE, School Resource Officer, BINTF, Training Officer, or Canine Patrol; cross trains and maintains expertise in all areas of sworn police activities. • Observes and notes all unusual or susp1c1ous situations, behaviors and events; reporting these circumstances and/or activities to superior officer and/or following up and gathering pertinent data. • Controls traffic; stops unsafe and/or illegal drivers; issues traffic citations; investigates causes and results of accidents; renders first aid at the accident scene; serves at first response level to hazardous materials spills and accidents. • Appears in court to present evidence and testify as to circumstances, occurrences, an...
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED. This position reports to the Maintenance of Way Supervisor and has no direct supervisory responsibility; however, will provide task assignments and directions to Railroad Track Laborers. This position is expected to participate in the sharing of expert knowledge and as a vital member of the maintenance of way team.

They have no direct personnel supervisory responsibility; however, will provide task assignments and directions to Facilities Maintenance Technician I/II/III’s in the absence of the COASTER/SPRINTER Managers. Further, this position is expected to participate in the sharing of expert knowledge and as a vital member of various project teams that may be instituted. Working Conditions Works in a variety of locations. Requires working outdoors and with a variety of machines, tools, and chemicals. Individuals in this position must be able to work safely to prevent on-the-job accidents and injuries and wear protective equipment including hearing protection, safety-toe boots, safety glasses, and other Personal Protective Equipment items as assigned by NCTD. Business travel may be required periodically between District sites, governmental agencies, consultants’ facilities, bus stops, rail stations, and other locations as required. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES Essential Functions Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: • Direct the day-to-day activities of Facilities Maintenance Technician 1/2/3s. • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, maintenance, and installation of mechanical systems and equipment associated with train and facility maintenance support equipment. • Metal fabrications (ladders, steel, chain railings, gratings, and frames, misc.). • Maintain/troubleshoot/repair the following equipment and systems: o Waste compactors, pressure washers, fluid dispensing equipment, and pumps. o Battery charging equipment, welding equipment, shop equipment (lathes, bead blasters, saws, grinders, drill presses, etc.). o Paint booth and cleaning equipment (scrubber, sweeper, pressure washer, blower, etc.), conveying systems. o Bridge cranes, jib cranes, train hoists, portable train lifts.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Plan, organize, direct and manages the Engineering Department activities, programs and projects including consultant contract administration and engineering design, development, survey, construction and inspection for the City; includes oversight of the areas of engineering, land development, traffic, design, utilities, solid waste, storm and sewer and inspection. Participate in the development and implementation of both short-range and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and procedures relative to public works engineering activities and maintenance operations. Coordinate engineering activities with other City departments and with outside agencies. Prepare a variety of reports, correspondence and special studies. Respond to complex citizen inquiries and complaints. Supervise, coordinate, and review all staff activities. Provide professional and technical staff assistance.
