Looking Forward. R unning a faculty is an inherently optimistic activity, like planting a tree. You make an implied contract with yourself that people, families and communities will enjoy the fruits over the coming years and decades. Training new generations of health care professionals and conducting groundbreaking research are in the same category, because we are working collectively to create a better future for society. A year and a half into my mandate, I am as proud of all that the Faculty achieves as I was on my first day. Over the course of Campaign McGill, which concluded earlier this summer, several truly seminal initiatives were introduced, while many other projects, featured in previous Medicine Focus magazines, were completed. Courtesy of MUHC This issue is largely dedicated to the ideas and opportunities that were born in the last five years, such as the new MDCM curriculum launching this month, the Rossy Cancer Network publicly announced in the spring, a new online Physical and Occupational Therapy Graduate Certificate in Chronic Pain Management and the Xxxxxx School of Nursing inaugurated in 2012. This fall, we will celebrate one-half century of leading research and training in the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Also during the Campaign, dozens of bright students and trainees continued their studies with the crucial support of bursaries, scholarships and fellowships. It’s through the talent and efforts of all our students that we can see the future taking shape. I was recently asked about the Faculty’s priorities for the coming year, and while it is always exciting to spearhead new major projects, the theme that immediately came to mind was “consolidation.” We will not stand still, despite the current period of financial austerity for all universities. Equally important, though, is that we build on our strengths and the advances we have made, like those mentioned above, together with our new research plan, ongoing educational strategy, XXXX XxXxxx activities, international collaborations and global health projects, among several others. Our number-one responsibility at this juncture is to ensure we cultivate what we have put in place, successfully and sustainably. Universities create new knowledge and push boundaries. Similarly, philanthropy is both an intellectual gesture and a creative pursuit, whether through endowed xxXx or annual fund support. Just as I am proud to be part of this Faculty, I consider myself privileged to belong to such a tr...
Looking Forward. 5.1 It would be unrealistic to expect to undertake at any one time the full range of projects needed to realise the vision for Bracknell Forest as set out in the Sustainable Community Plan, which has a 10 year time horizon. This Local Area Agreement will therefore act as a rolling programme and a process is in place to ensure that new projects and outcomes are developed each year when the document is refreshed. • Each year a series of workshops will be held within Bracknell Forest Partnership to brainstorm content ideas for the roll forward of the Local Area Agreement. • This list of ideas will be used by the Service Board and Theme Partnerships to identify outcomes that can be worked up further. • Where a Theme Partnership is willing to take the project forward, and the project meets one or more of the criteria set out in paragraph 1.7, a viable proposition will be developed to enable the project to be included in the refresh of the Local Area Agreement. • Where no support can be identified the project will be carried forward on the long list to the following year. In some instances these project ideas may be merged or absorbed into existing outcomes.
Looking Forward. North Dakota can continue to improve how it communicates progress and add more specificity to assist the reader in understanding the work that is underway and the things that have been accomplished. The State currently educates stakeholders about progress toward the Settlement Agreement through presentations, testimony with the State Legislature, and dashboard reports that are part of the Biannual Reports produced. The SME recommends the State consider creating a “Biannual Report in Brief” as well as an “Implementation Plan in Brief” that highlights the primary strategies, points of progress including challenges met, challenges that remain, and direct action steps being taken to address those challenges to enhance this information. The documents should be professionally produced and printed and include more graphs associated with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to more easily guide the reader than a report exceeding 120 pages. The State has indicated that it plans to streamline the current reporting dashboard. The SME and the State have jointly developed a list of Key Performance Indicators. There are approximately 60 performance measures scattered throughout the State’s Biannual Report and, for many of these, the State has provided data that is responsive to these measures. The State will continue to report on these measures twice a year through its Biannual Reports. The State and the SME are in agreement that not all performance measures are equal in importance. As such, and consistent with a model co-developed by the SME, beginning with the first quarter of 2023, the State will report on the Key Performance Indicators listed below on a quarterly basis. Data Dashboards displaying information on these KPIs will be posted on the Department’s website where all information related to the Settlement Agreement is housed (xxxxx://xxx.xxx.xx.xxx/us-department-justice-settlement-agreement). • Number of unduplicated TPMs served in the state or federally funded HCBS. • Number of TPMs being served in a SNF. • Total number of contacts to the ADRL. • Total number of individuals referred to HCBS case management. • Total number of TPMs who transitioned to an integrated setting. • Total number of LTSS Option Counseling visits that resulted in a TPM transitioning to the community. • Total number of TPMs receiving home modifications. • Total number of TPMs who were diverted from an SNF because they are receiving HCBS in the community. • Total number of TPMs receiving per...
Looking Forward. “Another unique aspect of this project is that this is an “all-Asia” project managed by Indonesia, Japan and Korea, without the participation of experienced international majors although they often lead in oil and gas development projects. While easy-to-develop oil and gas fields disappearing globally, a wider variety of financing is expected with an increasing number of projects that are harder to develop and commercialize with small and medium scale, deep water, unconventional and with high political risk. In this project, the unique aspect is the separation of upstream and midstream. In the future, JBIC will respond to such challenging projects in which Japanese companies participate.” Xxxxxxx explains. “This was my first LNG project financing experience, and I would like to continue my work on other project financing, making use of this experience in the future.” Nakao adds.
Looking Forward. In the coming years, the above strategies and priorities will guide the Constituent University’s approach to first year admissions – and it is expected that the minimum entrance requirement will be no less than 83.5% final grade average.
